I don't know what's wrong with me but I've been really sick. For the past two days, I've been hurting all over, my neck is extremely stiff and hurts, Ive been sweating perfously, especially at night, I've been coughing, my ears and throat hurt and my fever has been up and down. I must have something. It doesn't feel like Lyme. It feels like the flu.....I guess. Even my shoulders and my wrists are killing me. I can barely type. I slept all day yesterday and all night. When I wake up and open my eyes, I just want to die. It is the worse feeling ever. The pain is aweful. I don't want to do anything. I've been so weak. Why do we have to get sick on top of already being sick? Ugh!

The bad part is that my husband is gone until Friday. I've been trying not to tell him how sick I really am so that he can have a little fun. He went hunting with my dad, who is also sick with liver disease, so I wanted them to bond and have some fun. I was crying so much last night that I wanted to call him at 2 am and just cry to him. I was thinking about going to the ER but figured the only thing they would do is give me a pain pill or antibiotic which I already have!! Plus, I've been having head jerks again along with all of this lovely stuff. I even cried to God begging him to please give me some good days so that i can recoupe. My poor daughter, who is 15 is here with me. Its just not fair to her!! Will it ever get better?

It will get better. People kept saying that to me when I was very sick. It didn't make me feel better but it is true. You have to do something you like to do that makes the time pass and force yourself to do it.

I just got put back on Neurontin (Gabapentin) and it has made me feel better physically and mentally.

It sounds like you do have a flu (swine?).

YOU WILL GET BETTER!

Saxmar,

Thanks. Sometimes, it's hard to see that silver lining. I just posted to you on another thread. I was wondering how long it took for the neurontin to work? I have a script for it but was always scared to take it. I've read it kind of works in your brain like anti- depressants.

Cajun, I'm so sorry! As Saxmar says, maybe you also have a flu? There is so much crap going around! Add all those painful flu symptoms to Lyme and OMG. Have you called your Dr?

Lyme,

I talked to him yesterday and kind of mentioned it. He said that if it got worse to see my family doctor. I'm not gonna waste my time. They will either tell me it will run it's course or give me a pain pill or antibiotics and I already have those. I'm a little better since I took my pain pill. It might be a cover up but oh well. At least it's a little better. I've been watching when I get sick every month and last month, it was on the 18th. I'm wondering if it's just the nasty cycle of Lyme? Although, I feel like it's something else. I haven't even gone anywhere to catch the flu unless my daughter or my husband were carrying it, but they haven't been sick. My husband thinks it a sinus infection and that I'm just feeling worse from the fever. Maybe so.

Cajun, sure sounds so far like it could be that Lyme cycle. I'm really sorry, but it's good you're keeping track of dates -- I believe that will help a lot. I have not kept good track of the timing of my symptoms -- the fevers and flu-like body aches and pains and now I wish I had.

For years now, if I ever come down w/ a fever and feel a flu or anything else coming on, I have let the fever burn, unless I HAD to go to work and needed the relief. When it's been the flu, I'll usually run the fever for a day and then get better.

I understand fever is our body's way of fighting.

So, Question: when and if a herx OR if running any other fever, I'm assuming I should not take a fever reliever, unless it's really really bad.

Anybody?

Lyme,

Good question. I took something last night for the fever but I don't usually take anything. It is usually low. I don't see it hurting anything if you do feel bad enough. I will ask my doctor this on my next visit. Hmmmm, I better write it down because I will forget! Ha!

Good question though.

Rottendog,

Thanks hun. Everytime I feel like that, I run fever and sleep all day. I guess that's my bodies way of trying to heal, like you said. I just wish I wouldn't sleep so long though.

I'm feeling a little better now. I'm hoping the night doesn't bring back the fevers again. It's terrible going through that alone. My daughter was here but poor baby....she doesn't know what to do besides sit up with me and watch me cry. I don't like her seeing me that way.

Anyway, how have you been feeling?

RD,

You know darn well their attitudes would change if they or a loved one had it. I wish I could have went to school to become a doctor. I swear, I would have helped anyone and everyone that I could. I'd probably be a broke doctor, LOL. I always do things for free.

Hi CajunGrl.  I am sorry you are feeling so bad.

Didn't you recently start Mepron?  What dose are you taking? What antibiotic and dose are you taking with it?  How long have you been on these meds?   Stiff neck, sweating, and fever are hallmark symptoms of Babesiosis.   It sounds to me like you may be herxing.

Going through treatment for Babesiosis can be tough, especially in the beginning.   It will get better in time.  Make sure you are documenting your symptoms daily so you can see when your herxes occur.

I hope you feel better soon.  Hang in there okay?

Ticker,

Yes, I had started my med combo about a week ago and only lasted one day. I was taking 1/2 tsp of Mepron 2 x's a day and herxed an hour after I took the first dose. I had fever and really bad chills. After taking only one dose of Biaxin at 250mg and only one nystatin, I had really bad neurological symptoms like head jerking. I did a detox bath and it seemed to get better but now is getting worse again. I have not taken anything again since that first day.

My doctor wants me to start back on just Mepron at 1/4 tsp 2 x's a day now and add the rest is slowly. I know this is not enough BUT I am VERY sensitive to medication, hence herxing on the first day. I am waiting for my husband to get back from hunting, then I will start again.

Caj the thing i know that hurts the most is you want to be there for your daughter.
That is what kills me the most with my 21mnth old.
She is neglected by my terms when im sick.
I feel like I just missed her life and abandoned her.
I know it may be said that it is an exaggeration but is isnt in my mind.
That is where I feel most for you.
Prayers for a speedy recovery!!!!!
The line is faded not showing where Lyme came in. I became a new Mommy n my Lyme decided to show itself. Swollen elephant like knee and finger and limiting back pain. Bell's palsey, weight loss as if I had no muscle on my bones anymore. And much more text book lyme symptoms. To a Lyme doc, after alot of there is nothing wrong with you and a recommend to counceling,he said V this is Lyme. What kept me pressing on I had Lyme while I was pregnant. I know I was not infected while pregnant. I am watching her with an eagle eye. God Bless everyone. Love Veronica. Were the ones who know about Lyme not the doctors. Isnt that just mad? Backwards. Alice in wonderland.

James,

I am an animal lover too. I have 3 inside and 1 outside. I used to save stray cats and kittens and adopt them out. I can't do any of that anymore. That used to make me so happy inside. My poor animals suffer too. They are usually laying down when I'm laying down which is not good for them. They need exercise. I can barely get up to let them out for the bathroom much less play with them anymore. It's really sad and I truly know how you feel
