I had a huge attack of symptoms a week before I went back on abx...this is when I started feeling like I couldn't walk, the floor moving, etc...it is getting better...but I wouldn't say I've had a herx yet. There have been days where I've felt worse and today and yesterday my legs haven't really been shaky at all. This only makes me nervous because of the whole MS/Lyme debate. I'm afraid it's just a 'flare' that is now partially subsiding.

Is it even possible to notice a difference after one week of treatment? (Biaxin and Flagyl)
Current treatment (began June 10th 2009):
Biaxin 1000mg/day, Pulsing Flagyl 500mg/day 1 Week Every Month

Jendays247, one week is not long enough to know if a protocol is working.   It can take some time to recover.  Lyme symptoms wax, wane, and migrate.

Be sure to document your symptoms daily.  Over time when you review this information, you can see when your herxes occur and how you are responding to the meds.

Good luck with your protocol.

My first combo of meds were biaxin and something else(sorry..it was awhile ago). I don't think I herxed at all on it.(miss that month)

Then I went on tetracycline and diflucan...the fun began.

Then on mepron/zith. Herxes were severe and often the first 6 weeks. Now I am in my 14 month of it and I can almost pinpoint to the day when I will herx. Very clear cycles. I think some medicine doesn't hit it.

Hang in there!!!!

Meant to say 14th week of mepron. Geez...14 months of the yellow paint, now that would stink.

Lymekiller,

Gracie's Mom stated that it took Gretchen 18 months of treatment before she saw about 90% improvement. She didn't mean that "all of a sudden, in just one day", she was better.

I hope you don't get offended by me helping you out. I know how bad brain fog can be. I've been struggling with it again myself.

Ive been treating this since december 2007 when I was finally diagnosed by doctor # 8 but have had lyme since 1992.

it is a daily struggle some meds have helped tremendously other have done nothing its just finding the right one for you.

for me it was zithromyacin and flagyl zith really cleared up the brain fog. still continue to see improvements from flagyl and diflucan for yeast has done wonders for me too.
