Does anyone else get head jerks while on antibiotics? I have alot of weird symptoms that surface but this one really scared me. I can be sitting still and all of a sudden my head will jerk to the right real fast. I'm hoping I never hurt myself when this happens. It even did it yesterday while I was laying down. It jerked three times in a row. Blah!
2003 symptoms started;panic attacks,anxiety,heightened senses.
2007 Diagnosed with Lyme. Didn't start treatment.
2008 symptoms came back with a vengence.
2009 Diagnosed with Lyme plus co-infections....Babesia and Bartonella.
Illnesses:-Chronic Lyme Disease,Hashimotos Thyroiditis, Ulcers, Hypoglycemia
Medications:-Biaxin 250mg to start,Mepron,Ultram,Thyro Complex 60mg,Probiotics and supplements

I get these normally but they intensified when I was on abx. The head jerk follows a twitch from another part of my body- example: My leg will twitch and then my head....my foot and then my head.....my arm and then my head... really strange.

Yes! That's exactly what happens to me. Is yours more of a twitch or a jerk though? Mine is a hard jerk that can't be controlled.

CG do you think useing a neck brace would help to make sure you dont hurt your neck like a whiplash why your on abx?

i would hate to know you was damaged by this or anyone else for that matter.

Question: If I do not have any twitching or jerking, any way this might mean I do not have Lyme?
Lyme in NC in 1971? Suspect TBI: Fully engorged tick followed by high fever and tonsillitis. Follwed by , lumps on neck,  chronic tonsillits w/ constant low grade to recurring high (104) fevers, severe unexplained neck stiffness and acute neck pain.   Followed by tonsillectomy, urinary tract infections, miscarriage, appendicitis while pregant, chronic severe back pain. Followed by depression, mild anxiety, mitral valve prolapse, and hypglycemia.  Was this a TBI??

Bit again couple of times, lyme suspect bite Mother's Day 2007. Bite, symptoms, lyme specific antibodies on the most lyme specific band of all = 39 IgG.  Still awaiting appt w/ LLMD.

my face twitches, my eyelids twitch.. my thumb twitches.. basically i'm waiting for the other symptoms...

if your neck jerks to where you are getting headaches or whiplash, i would seek medical attention. but if it just jerks a little, my neck jerks if sit still sometimes..

Stutterbug,

Thanks for the response. It makes me feel better that I'm not alone in this. I wish you didn't have it though because it's crazy.

laughing is good for ya, whiplash isnt so good, and if your jerking so much i would rath see you in brace then to have perm damage from the jerking.

Lyme,

I'm not sure hun. Some people don't respond to certain antibiotics. If I were you, I wouldn't give up just yet.

James,

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know how hard all of this is to go through and deal with. I seriously think you do have Lyme from all of the symptoms you are having especially ever since you got on antibiotics.

Keep your chin up hun. We are all here for you.

canjungrl,

my symptoms are so random and so odd... i've said this before, one day i was 100% and the next day i was 50% and been worse since, now i'm almost use to it and have no idea how people feel great all day... i look up to them like you are very lucky to be at that level i use to be at..

i would like to meet some of you with lyme and see how you act and feel in person... because everyone around me thinks i should just snap out of it anytime i want...

James,

Let me tell you....you can't just snap out of Lyme Disease. I wish it was that easy. Maybe you should get that DVD of Under Our Skin and make your family watch it. It would explain so much. The reason they probably don't believe you is because the symptoms are all over your body. That's what Lyme does.

If you came to my house, you would see me sitting on the couch or laying in bed and most of the time I am moaning and groaning in pain.

jame i know just how you feel, i even whent as far as buying a pourch swing 3 months ago. i havent as of yet been able to lay in it :(

i dont knwo if its luck i would call it, but i have a 2 neighbors 1 def has lyme and the other is a iffy for lyme, her own Dr. will not test her for it. so sad.

anyways the 3 of us usealy only talk by phone as we cant seem to get our so called good days in sink. and i am only talking about 50 feet of walking. and 3 of us cant do it. its so sad its funny.

my point is like CG said if we was able to meet up. it would be to watch each other lay around. about the only time i leave my home is to go to Dr. appointments.
also the movie should be a must see for all lymies and there family. is how i feel about it.
sometimes it is easyer to accept it when you see it and the movie explanes it so well, anyone can understand.

yes it is very hard for others to understand we are sick when we dont look it they say you dont look sick, but last time i looked none of us was seethrough.

yes,

if someone would like to walk in my shoes for 2 minutes they would jump out within 10 seconds and would understand..

i'm just curious, has anyone with lyme on here had any MRI done to check for cancer first before being properly diagnosed? if not, what if we are just suffering from cancer. or something else.. or maybe both, which is making it worse for some. and the ones that get cured quick have a heatlhy system already.. and no under lining stuff going on.. what if we lyme but there is something else there we are missing which makes it worse.
