I know I've expressed this fear before...but my legs do not seem to be getting better. Today I actually helped out around the house (we're redoing our basement), and I had to stand up while helping my sister downstairs...my legs just start shaking...I can't say it feels like muscle fatigue because there is no pain, but it makes me nervous enough not to want to walk around anymore.

I feel like I'm alone in this one, and I'm terrified I'm not going to be able to use my legs! My arms do this too after a while (even sometimes after typing my hands will shake), but my legs seem to do it without any exertion, sometimes just waking up in the morning and getting out of bed!

I also feel like the connections between my brain and parts of my body are short circuiting or something...I will know what I want to do with my hands or feet but it's like my brain just doesn't give the right command. I used to dance, and I could NEVER get my feet to move how they used to now. I sometimes have difficulty even pointing my toes. :(

??? Scary ...

I understand your concern. And you have alot of people on her that have the same thing...and pain along with it as well. You need to get your immune system working better. The sort of short circuit thing that you talk about it very common with lyme. Some drop things or cannot hold a glass and forget that they are holding it.
Odd....but you need to get on some immune boosters asap and supp. with large doses of vit C and PROBIOTICS.
2004 in Martha's Vineyard me and my two daughters then 11 mos and 6 all got Lyme Disease. This was only known to us because we found the tiny ticks on us and we got very ill. My dog also got lyme and he went lame.
We have fought it for 4 years to no avail.
We all got it again this summer is Texas.
I am now in treatment in Scottsdale Arizona at Envita.

Oh and be careful, if you do not feel steady on your feet then hold on to rails and be careful.
You do not want to fall and hurt yourself.

Hey ,

Ask Dr Z about b-12 injections or have your b-12 tested mine was very low and I had a lot of problems with strength and muscle problems b-12 also helps with the nervous system and proper nerve functioning, im 26 and I was feeling like I was 90!

Hey Jess -

I have been on b12 for a long time now. When I was first tested I was in the 300s, and now am at 1150. I suppose your level could be normal but not be used appropriately. Perhaps I should get shots instead of doing the sublingual tablets.

LK - I think everyone talks about b12 because it is so commonly overlooked and the benefits can be life altering. I was a huge b12 advocate when I first started taking it - not sure what happened!

Hi Jendays,

I lost the use of my legs from lyme for many months, perhaps a year or longer (I didn't keep a record).  Please don't feel alone as this will pass.   I had all sorts of sensations in my legs, they would feel numb and I would just fall down, then I would get these sharp pains in both my legs, I had to use crutches for many months, etc.

For me detoxing like crazy helped my legs and my legs have been fine for years now.  Are you taking detox baths or foot detox baths?   That may help you.

Hope you feel better,
Denise

Lymekiller,

Sometimes levels can be high but our bodies are not absorbing the Vitamin or supplement correctly....especially with Lyme Disease. As you are not a doctor, I don't think you should be giving advice about someone not needing B-12 or anything for that matter.

B-12 may not be a wonder drug but it has helped alot of people feel better whether they have
Lyme Disease or not BUT especially helping people with Lyme Disease. It is a proven fact that
Lyme Disease depletes the immune system and also causes B-12 deficiencies.

Also, I wonder how long you continued with your B-12 shots and how many cc's you were prescribed?

Jen,

Are these episodes coming in cycles or is it all the time? I truly feel for you. What did your LLMD say about this?

CG,

The shaky leg thing seems to be constant...but I did get a rather intense kick at my existing symptoms starting a couple of days ago...it was almost exactly four weeks from the last time this happened. I can only say it's a cycle if it lets up after a few more days!

Here's hoping...

I'm sorry Jen but since Lymekiller doesn't have email....

Lymekiller,

No, I am not a doctor. That's why I don't go around telling people to start or stop medications/supplements. This could me very dangerous if someone listens to you.

Also, we need support here, not negativity. Please try to be a little more supportive. We are all different and react differently to medication. Thanks:)

Jen,

I'm praying that it is the dreaded cycle for you. I noticed about 3 months ago, that I was having the bad episodes every month around the 17th-20th.

You are always on my mind and I am praying for you.

I have never looked at Parkinson's symptoms in my life until just now, and I am officially FREAKED OUT! I thought twitches and tremors were the main symptoms, and while they are one of them...I have everything else on the Parkinson's symptom list too!

Oh man, I so don't want to look that up. It's been on my mind too. I even asked my husband what he thought. Of course, he won't tell me he thinks I have that, LOL.

Okay, so now you've got me curious! darn you Jen! LOL.

I have read 'herx. reaction' info. that the feeling of - if you close your eyes you can't tell where your legs or arms are - type sensation - can be one of the many horrible 'herx. reactions' - parts of the body going numb - is usually followed by pain - these 'herx' symptoms can last from hours/days/weeks - this is info. I have read - not my personal experience

4 years ago I was dragging my entire left side. I went to so many specialists (orthopedists, neurologists etc) that diagnosed me with "dropped foot". Right.... dropped foot ended up being Lyme and co-infections a few years later. It began with tremors with my hands, I thought I had MS. Then my legs would shake with the least bit of movement especially when going up or down the stairs. My eyeballs shook as well along with many many many many other symptoms!

I also couldn't point the toes of my left foot and still cant bend it up all the way it is still very weak. The shaking went away after the first months of treatment. I still have much weakness and the legs and arms get tired after using them only a little bit---but I am better and you will be too.

Oh! and the extreme heaviness in my arms and legs was said to be from Babesia by my LLMD. Blessings
Diagnosed 2003 Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, Micoplasma,Hashimotos Thyroiditis. Have had since early nineties. [/color]
