Hi everyone- just wondering if anyone experiences this, too. When it is hot out my symptoms are much worse. Joint pain, neck pain, heel pain all of the usual stuff. I feel better when it is cold out.

I remember last summer being at a Coldplay concert and it was SO hot inside. I hurt SO bad...had to sit 4 most of the show. As soon as I got outside I felt much better.

Even in the winter when I stand in front of my woodstove my neck will start to hurt.

Is this normal and why does it happen? Most people I know their joints hurt in the cold weather. For me it is the opposite.

Lovelabs,
I also have heat intolerance.
I've just found this: http://www.rifelabs.com/heat-and-lyme.html
have lyme for about 4.5 years. I've just got positive lyme test.
(sorry about my English, it is not my mother tongue)

Hope,

Wow! That explains why I feel so weak when I take a hot bath. My legs pratically shake when I get out and I feel like I'm going to pass out. I've always wondered why I felt like that and no one else in my family did. My husband and I thought it was my blood sugar. Thanks for posting this!

Jen needs to see read this article too. It talks about weakness in legs.

This is an interesting topic... i actually found this forum to look for other people's experiences since I'd recently noticed my symptoms getting worse... and last year, the peak of my joint pain was during the heat of summer. I seemed to recover over the winter, though....

Years before I considered myself to be "sick" I found it unusual that I always felt lightheaded and downright horrible after taking a shower when most people felt revitalized.

I don't mind hot weather but find I can't tolerate humidity. When I belonged to a CFS/Fibro group many people said they did much better in the Southwest which is interesting.

scorpio its funny i have always hated the cold. it makes me hurt so much more. but in the last yr or so i knowest when i take a hot i mean hot shower i am so weak afterwards i cant even brush my hair out. it takes me at least an hr to move afterwards.

but then again in the winters i cant handle the cold. it hurts me all the way down into my bones.
i try to keep it at 72ยบ in the house at all times. this seems to work best for me to keep me happy.

granet we dont have the humidity here so this could be a factor too. shoot half the time its -5 to -10 humidity. and we have only had 5 inches of yr since Oct of last yr. lol dont ya just love Tx. LOL

yeah i just vacationed in texas and i was waking up every morning worse and worse from the heat.
The line is faded not showing where Lyme came in. I became a new Mommy n my Lyme decided to show itself. Swollen elephant like knee and finger and limiting back pain. Bell's palsey, weight loss as if I had no muscle on my bones anymore. And much more text book lyme symptoms. To a Lyme doc, after alot of there is nothing wrong with you and a recommend to counceling,he said V this is Lyme. What kept me pressing on I had Lyme while I was pregnant. I know I was not infected while pregnant. I am watching her with an eagle eye. God Bless everyone. Love Veronica. Were the ones who know about Lyme not the doctors. Isnt that just mad? Backwards. Alice in wonderland.

wasnt you in the southern part of Tx. close to the shore? the humidity it a lot higher there then where i live. and know hot is not no matter where it is but when its 90 here you dont sweat as much as it drys on you as fast as you sweat, and then you have white crusty skin from all the salt in your body..lol

RD, I can't stand the cold weather either! I like it very warm or even hot, but without the humidity. When I was in AZ a few years ago it was in the 80's and I was comfortable in jeans and a sweater while everyone else was in shorts and tank tops. Like I said, I'm living in the wrong place. lol

matter of fact i didnt have to waer my winter coat at all this yr. just a sweat jacket type. think they call em hoodies up your way :)
