well i want back to the ID today, due to the neuro issues that started  in the last 2 weeks. this is what i got out of him in the 3 visits i have had with him.

1st visit, he told me he didnt think i had lyme and wanted me to see a neuro to rule out MS. stated there was no lyme in this part of Tx. ( i havent lived here  all my life, i belive i got it while liveing in N.J.)

2nd visit, told him i didnt have MS, then he was like ok and gave me azithromycin 500mg to take 3 days out of 10. very odd if you ask me. and basicly told me  he was done with me.

3rd visit, today i go back due to brain issues, i'm scared. he tells me he doesnt think i have lyme yet again. i'm ready to yell at thim byt to sleepy to do so. i argue with him i have the copy of my positive IgM report. i even told him the lab turned it in to the CDC and health dept.
he then said it could of been a fales positive.

well i'm realy to pull my hair out at this point. so he order another lyme test. and if it comes back positive then he will place me on IVs for 30 days  and said point blank thats all i need and will be cured.

ohh yeh they test will be back on monday, but he will not be in all next week..lol can i not catch a break here at all. i am so fed up with him. but i have no other options here in no mans land.

and i just wonder why i am depressed. i'm about ready to throw a good old country fit on him. i have never in my life seen such a lack of care by a Dr. in my life.  it just blows my mind.

hang in there.. its a tough road...

i am very relentless when it comes to this stuff...

just do what i was told by gracies mom.. tell the doc, "hey what if your wrong and i'm right, what happens then" leave it at that.. Put the pressure on them.. Who cares, its your body not theirs..

I told my doc i wasn't going to leave without him keepin me on abx.. he only put me on for 2 more weeks, but i'll go back and fight him again.. can they refuse you? maybe, but i doubt it..

RD, I understand how disappointed you are and how anxious you are to start the IV's but I don't think one week is going to make a big difference at this point. Insurance companies usually don't pay for more than one month of IV's so at least you will get what they are willing to pay for. Hopefully, the one month he is willing to give you will lead to some good and by the end of the month something will turn up in your favor. You sure do deserve a break and I pray that you get one.

thanks both of you. i am numb right now due to being so mad and upset. the fool told me i could have the sx from something else. i'm like what else causes and explanes everything i have? he didnt have a answer to that one. he is a jerk, but for right now he is my jerk. as i said i have no other options open to me.

i also dont think he liked it that i have talked with folks at both the CDC and health dept.
but i dont really care. i'll talk to anyone who may be able to get me help. cause i know if i can get help then so can others who have to go thro this bull.

i will know what path needs taken and they in turn will not have such a ruf road. all i keep thinking is that i have this critter in me eating me from the inside out. and i am going to rot b4 i get treatment for it. and all because i live in the sticks.

Good for you for mentioning the CDC to him. I would think now he doesn't have much choice in giving you the 30 days of IV. He sounds like a real winner. Unfortunately, one of many!

Many doctors hate when their patients know more than they do. He is a complete idiot.

First step is to get on the IV's that he is willing to prescribe when the tests come back and then hopefully after July 30th you'll have more information to throw back at him.

Hang in there.... it'll get worse for a while, better for a while, back and forth. Try to find a Lyme literate doctor within driving distance of your home. I have also been told my EIA AND WB (which BOTH came back positive) were a "false positive"..... I mean, forgive my languange but JHC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had been through he11, finally found out what was wrong and then they said....."Oh no, those results are 'false' positives". Give me a break!

I am sorry to hear your troubles. I guess just harping on this DR until he gives you what you need is the only option. Is your health so it is worth fighting tooth and nail.

What a crappy Dr! I am so sorry, RD. And I don't think it's too soon to let him know about consulting w/ an attorney. Your case has clearly turned into malpractice!
Lyme in NC in 1971? Suspect TBI: Fully engorged tick followed by high fever and tonsillitis. Follwed by , lumps on neck,  chronic tonsillits w/ constant low grade to recurring high (104) fevers, severe unexplained neck stiffness and acute neck pain.   Followed by tonsillectomy, urinary tract infections, miscarriage, appendicitis while pregant, chronic severe back pain. Followed by depression, mild anxiety, mitral valve prolapse, and hypglycemia.  Was this a TBI??

Bit again couple of times, lyme suspect bite Mother's Day 2007. Bite, symptoms, lyme specific antibodies on the most lyme specific band of all = 39 IgG.  Still awaiting appt w/ LLMD.

maybe after i get my aprovale from disablity then i can. but who knows how long this will take.

RD, that false positive seems to be real popular with doctors.  Hope all goes well with your next visit.
KO
2001 symptoms started:
Tingling in fingers and toes both sides, not tested at that time for LD
2007 Summer tested pos. WB, diagnosed with LD, tested neg for co-infections thru Igenex

Amoxicillin 1gm 2x/day for 1 month
Amoxicillin 1gm 3x/day with Probenecid 500mg 2x/day  5 months
Currently on Dr. Zhang's protocol stopped Zhang's after 6 months symptoms returned.  Started Buhner's protocol May 2009

I'm just worried that he sends it to some junk lab that doesnt test enough strains to show u positive.
this pisses me off so much ... u should print him out a copy of what they are doing in connecticut. Let him know the infectious disease society will loose respect because of this. this lights fire in me uueehhhhhhhhgggg
The line is faded not showing where Lyme came in. I became a new Mommy n my Lyme decided to show itself. Swollen elephant like knee and finger and limiting back pain. Bell's palsey, weight loss as if I had no muscle on my bones anymore. And much more text book lyme symptoms. To a Lyme doc, after alot of there is nothing wrong with you and a recommend to counceling,he said V this is Lyme. What kept me pressing on I had Lyme while I was pregnant. I know I was not infected while pregnant. I am watching her with an eagle eye. God Bless everyone. Love Veronica. Were the ones who know about Lyme not the doctors. Isnt that just mad? Backwards. i called the office to get my repost, i was told by the nurse that he ran 2 test. 1 was a WB from some lab i never heard of. and even she didnt know what the other test was. the WB is back. this time negitive. i know its what he wanted. but i do have my test from labcourp and it is positive. so the way i see it is he sent it to some off the wall lab to get his answer not the right answer. so he wouldnt have to say there is LYME IN Tx. the fool jerk anything i can think of that fit to print..lol

so my next step is going to a lawyers office. with my test and all the info i have. then maybe he can pay for me to see a LLMD, who knows

RD, I am so sorry and wish you the best of luck in pursuing this. Forgive me for being so dense right now but does this mean that he definitely will not treat you or do you think there might be a possibility.

RD,

I'm feeling too bad to really read posts right now but I read your original and I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. I really hope that the test DOES come back positive and that you can get on IVs just to bide you some time until you figure something else out.

You're in my thoughts and I hope things work out for you.

Current treatment (began June 10th 2009):

Get a complete copy of your medical records from his office BEFORE you talk to a lawyer - I've had medical records requests be filled incompletely due to the doctor wanting to cover his own ***.

Read through the records completely and submit any necessary corrections in writing to the doctor's office (keep a copy of what you submit for yourself). They cannot deny you the right to make corrections in your own medical record.

Make sure you have documentation (photos, etc.) of your EM rash in addition to extra copies of your positive Lyme test result from Labcorp.

Then go talk to a malpractice lawyer... I hope you win - it would set a prescident that would be important for all of us.
