I went to see PA C. from Dr R.  I got a diagnosis of lymes

I am sure is different for everyone but it will be nice to at least have an idea when the herx may start.

I started in the antibioctic Cefdinir 300mg today. And in 5 days I will start Azithromycin 250mg

when can I expect to get  the Herx?  right now i feel liked a scared rabbit, thinking that any tingle sensation or itchiness means that herx is coming.

Hi JohnLyme.  I am glad you were able to see someone knowledgeaable quickly.  Will you be taking Zithromax once or twice daily?

Herxes can affect people individually.   Some people experience them at the beginning or change of treatment and/or every three to four weeks.  Be sure to document your symptoms every day so over time you can see if a there is a pattern.

Good luck with your treatment!

just hoping i get some more information on this,

I have taken the Cefdinir 300mg for a week. and 3 days ago I started with the Azithromycin 250mg. ( so i take both meds now) I feel headaches sometimes through out the day, I was wondering if it was herx or just the actual medication side effects.

I am getting a little muscle plain, almost like tingeling pain, and my knees where hurting this morning. I am a confused since I dont seem to be herxing really bad, so i keep wodering if I am or this are just med side effects.

Hi John.  To me it sounds like the meds are stirring things up.  I don't think the symptoms you are experiencing sound like typical side effects (but I am not a medical professional).

You have only been on one med for a week and the other med for less time.  It takes time.  Although it can vary individually, some people herx around the third to fourth week. Some people do not herx.   It sounds like you are on the right track.  Make sure you are documenting your symptoms.

Keep on keeping on.

Hey John, You're in good hands with Dr. R. and C.

Sometimes it's just so hard to tell when it comes to herxing. I wasn't sure what was what either and still don't. lol Now when I look back though I realize I definitely herxed many times but it was not as bad as I expected it to be.

In the beginning when I added the Mino to the Zithro and Mepron, I experienced unbearable deep itchiness in my hands and feet that was alleviated with Zyrtec. I spoke to C and we couldn't figure out if it was a herx or a reaction. I chose to stop taking the Mino for a short period of time and then added it back in to see what would happen. I was fine so this was obviously a herx.

Everyone's different and it's certainly unnerving not knowing what to expect. Don't worry you'll be fine.
