Not sure what to think. The urologist just called me to say they have found something growing  in my Urine they have never seen before. I went there because I have been having terrible pains in my bladdar and kidneys. They thought I was having Nuerological Bladdar spasms, but now there stumped.

They said they can't get me pictures of it, and thought that was the craziest question they've ever been asked. They said not to worry they have a call into the Local infectious Disease Dr. That sucks those guys hate me, there not going to help me. I asked her to please keep my  name private so hopefully they will be unbiased.

Anyone have any thoughts. I am currenty treatings Babs w/ Mepron and Arythrimycin.

Gosh, it is kind of unsettling to think they have never seen it before-WOW! How long have you been on the Abx. you are currently on? They will most likely need to prescribe a different antibiotic, since you have this going on while on the current regime. I have the same view of Infectious Disease Docs. Hey, if you have Hepatitis those are your guys. If you have Lyme....not so much, lol! I hope you get some answers soon.

Hi Really Lyme,

I think your question was appropriate and deserved some respect.  If they cannot give you a picture, they SHOULD be able to give you a report about the unknown "thing" they found in your urine.  How do they know it is "growing"  and not just floating around in your urine because it came from tissue or blood somewhere else?  Their report should state what culture medium they used to try to grow it in.  They should also be able to give you a description of the "germ" such as the shape (a "cocci" or "rod" etc.),  if it is gram negative or positive or what stain they used to see it,  what size it is,  proof that it is actually a living thing and not a non-living piece of something else,  or maybe dead bacteria,  virus etc.  In my opinion,  this is your health information and you should have a right to know what they are saying about it and what they did.  I think it's reasonable that you should be entitled to copies of reports so that you can choose to get a second opinion if you want.  Also, if what they saw is so "unusual" that they have never seen it before, you would think they would have taken pictures of it in order to do more research.   Just my opinion, but I sure would want them to give me all the info. they had.

I hope things go well for you and that your troubles resolve quickly.  Best wishes.  bablymers mom

I agree w/ what the others have said above -- that it's probably the spirochete die off. Also wondering if it could be the babesia protozoa? Spose any of them have ever seen that either?

Suspect TBI in 1972.  Attacked tonsils (recurring high fevers, constant low grade fevers, chronic tonsillitis) , pregnancy (miscarraige), appendix, heart (mitral valve prolapse), hypoglycemia, depression, chronic acute neck and back pain.

Next suspect Mother's Day 2007.  Diagnosed w/ Lyme and Bart June 2009. (awaiting more test results)

In treatment for recurrent depression, anxiety, low thyroid.

Bit again 7/1/2009, began Doxy 200 mg /day

My mother had EXACTLY the same thing happen to her. Her doc didn't even call anyone. Lab said it was very unusual. No red flags went up for anyone! Ugh.
Our local health department hated my mother. She was trying to make them aware something was going on. We would take new finding by, etc.

Thank you for the replys. Still waiting for the Infectious Disease Drs opinion. I am pretty sure he will say it's nothing. I am in my 2nd month of treatings Babs with Mepron.

I will make sure I get the Lab report. I go see Dr. K in Conneticut at the end of the month maybe he will have some ideas. I think it is propably lyme or babs die off but I am sure they will not admitt that to me. As I said he hates me. We only have 2 Infectious Disease Drs in town the other one would never even take my refferals for Drs after 8 positive tests.

Then when our Daughter was born he was the on call Pediatrician. I suprisingly really liked him as her Dr. Then after a few months I think he realized who I was and one day we may have to have a serious talk about Lyme. He then started giving us the worst Baby advise I think to get rid of us. I called his office anf let them have it and refused to pay for our last visit, I told them he should understand Lyme Rage and I definitly had it.

Bad advice = malpractice He should be more professional and tell you up front if he thinks you should find another doc. He is lucky that your rant was not followed by a law suit.

Jen you are hilarious oh my god I am laughing hard.
stutterbug your funny too.
I Wonder if it a spirochete bacteria. ask what type of bacteria it is.
The line is faded not showing where Lyme came in. I became a new Mommy n my Lyme decided to show itself. Swollen elephant like knee and finger and limiting back pain. Bell's palsey, weight loss as if I had no muscle on my bones anymore. And much more text book lyme symptoms. To a Lyme doc, after alot of there is nothing wrong with you and a recommend to counceling,he said V this is Lyme. What kept me pressing on I had Lyme while I was pregnant. I know I was not infected while pregnant. I am watching her with an eagle eye. God Bless everyone. Love Veronica. Were the ones who know about Lyme not the doctors. Isnt that just mad? Backwards. Really Lyme,

I didn't read everyone's responses but is it possible you may have a UTI?  Urinary Tract Infection?  Just a thought...

To Kendall122,

I'm new here. Diagnosed with Lyme in Aug. 08. My son and I are being treated by Dr. J. He is much better and I am keeping an eye on my two daughters for symptoms. Kendall122 wrote two years ago that she felt like she had something stuck in the back of her throat. My 26 yr. old daughter has had this same unexplained problem and other odd rashes....Do you know what caused your "lump in the throat?" Was that lyme/bartonella related. My son had the red stretch mark rash and was easy to identify. I think bartonella, at least, is all through my family. Thanks for any insights. Susan

Contact Dr. Fry in scottsdale AZ and get a kit and send the blood to him.
He too has found a new and not known bacteria in a few people on this forum.
He has notified the CDC of this too.
He is a good guy to find stuff and give you some answers.
He found my bart and took pictures of it for me.

Hey everybody,

Since we are already talking about strange urine anyway, I was wondering if anybody else had had foul-smelling urine? I get bouts of icky "sulphur-like" smelling urine with no pain or discomfort, negative for UTI's, and therefore my doctor is "not worried" of course. However, it's only been since I've been dealing heavily with Lyme symptoms, and it comes and goes. I am not currently on antibiotics (ins. company found out that I was being treated long-term for Lyme and canceled payment) so I rule out spirochete die-off as a possibility. Oh, and the amount and type of fluids I drink do not make any difference in the odor. WEIRD!!!
Diagnosed MS in 1994, used Avonex for years, then diagnosed Lyme in 2006, working on healing now!
