i'm not trying to get a sunburn, but i've been off doxy for 2 weeks, and would love some Vitamin D. I'm just curious when is a good time to call is safe

I think Doxy works on everyone a lil different. Just like the disease itself. Last summer when I was on Doxy I was also on IV Rocephine. I was in the sun alot, used sunscreen and never got a burn. Just do trial and error with yourself, its what you can tolerate.....Happy Sunshine to you! !

I would take it slow James. When I was on doxy last summer the sun would sting my skin. I would just stay out a little at a time to make sure you don't burn.

By the way, how are you feeling and did you get your Igenex test results back yet?

lovelabs, thanks, and no the igenex isn't back yet, i called igenex on tuesday and asked them when it would be released to my PCP and they said at the earliest friday, if not then, then probably monday.. i can't wait to see them..

The half life for  Doxy is approximately 18-22 hours.

Half-life: time taken for blood concentration to fall to half its peak value after a single dose. . This time may vary considerably between individuals. A drug's half-life is determined by finding out how long it takes a medication or drug to be eliminated from blood plasma by one half of its strength.

You could ask your pharmacy to calculate the clearance of this drug from your system as it will depend on the dosage.

Take care,
