I get to see my LLMD in Conetticut this week. I haven't been in 3 years. There is so much that needs covered.  The problem is I have to go all alone we couldn't afford more plain tickets from oregon to Conneticut. I really need someone there with me to help absorb all the info. Last time i saw this Dr he gave me so much stuff and I forgot most of it. Luckily I had a friend there to help me absorb it all.

Without my Husband there I really won't be able to remember and he always hears things different than me usually the right way.

So I have alittle digital recorder or I was thinking of having my husband on speaker phone on my cell.

I don't know what to do, I really need all the info to help figure out my next attack plan.

What would you do, how would you ask?

ReallyLyme,

Ask your doctor first to make sure he doesn't mind you recording him but that's what I would do. I always need someone there with me too and I also sometimes hear things differently. I would use a recorder because that way, you won't be questioning yourself.

Good luck with your appointment. I'm so sorry you have to do this alone.

I agree just ask first. Have you felt good for 3 years and then just started having problems again? Or did u find another doc in Oregon?

After he perscribed IV antibiotics I did feel better for the last 3 years. But I had always stayed on low dose antibiotics and when I stopped taking them it all came back.

Hi Beth,
I hope ur appointment goes really well and I agree that calling ahead is the way to ensure you have coverage. If you have a laptop, you are also allowed to request that you take notes throughout the appointment as well, as long as you have permission ahead of time. Having ur husband on the phone during the appointment is brilliant. I hope your doctor is open to your digital recording idea. Many are, so do not hesitate to make ur needs known.

Blessings,
~d

Hi Beth,

Everyone gave you great advice.  The only other thing I could think of is to write down all your questions in a large notebook leaving plenty of blanks in-between so you can write down all the responses (in case recording is not allowed).

Are you on any detox regime?

Good luck on your app't!

Thank you everyone, good advice. Hopefully I make it to Conetticut for the DR appt. I have been sitting in the San Fransisco airport for 12 hour delay.

Beth,

Good luck with everything. If you cannot record it, maybe try writing it down.
