I just read a good article about the 18 symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue, but it didn't say what to do about it.  What have you tried and what was your experience?
Thanks, KO

2001 symptoms started:
Tingling in fingers and toes both sides, not tested at that time for LD
2007 Summer tested pos. WB, diagnosed with LD, tested neg for co-infections thru Igenex
Abx - Doxy 100mg 2x/day for 3 weeks (before diagnosis)
Amoxicillin 1gm 2x/day for 1 month
Amoxicillin 1gm 3x/day with Probenecid 500mg 2x/day  5 months
Currently on Dr. Zhang's protocol stopped Zhang's after 6 months symptoms returned.  Started Buhner's protocol May 2009

I'd like to hear some solutions too. I think I have Adrenal Fatigue. I have many of the symptoms but can't seem to get a doctor to check for it. My endo said that the test wasn't accurate. What?? That's crazy! I'm hoping my new LLMD runs this test for me since he is an internist too. If not, I'll ask my internist here.

I had 24 hour urine test from LLMD and was put on bovine adrenal extact which I couldn't tolerate.

Went to internal medicine PCP last week and he's prescribing testosterone since my DHEA was really low. I'm worried about using this. Haven't started this yet.

I've started using 1/4 of the animal extract when I remember and seem to be doing ok on the lower dose. Almost wish I didn't have to do the testosterone now. No side effects, no improvement, but maybe too soon.

Also am take big doses of Vitamin C, B complex, pantethine, CoQ10, phosphatydyl serine, and a bunch of stuff I can't remember. I think I pay more for my supplements than groceries.

I'm further down in the tank due to stress from a car accident last week. Hard to keep even.

My adrenals were low, but not out of range.  The Dr caught it and said it was too low, same for the other hormone tests he did.

Wow, KO-LD, thanks for this link! Man, I've got a LOT of these symptoms, and of course, many of the them are symptoms of Lyme.  So I guess that is why, since Lyme affects adrenals.
Bit 1972: Acute and chronic tonsillitis, UTI, miscarraige, appendicitis, hypoglycemia,  chronic neck pain w/ crushed vertibrae, chronic severe back pain, mitral valve prolapse, depression, resolution?
Bit Mother's Day 2007: Lyme, Babesia microti, hypothyroidism, EBV, HHV6, Parvovirus B19, low adrenals &misc other hormones, depression, anxiety, more of the above.
What don't these nasty bugs cause?
CD57= 60, so we're in pretty good shape.

+Lyme, You're welcome!  I noticed on your signature that your CD-57 is 60 here's a link for an article by Ginger  Savely, she believes that a more accurate threshold is 100.

What is your doctor doing to treat your adrenals?

KO-LD, I really can't post much more about my Dr til I get my appt and meds straight w/ him. But he gave me a list of stuff to order online which I cannot afford right now. Also rx'ed a cream which I have not been able to get yet either. I came away w/ hundreds of dollars of stuff to get. Yeah, I know I'm worth it, but what w/ the thousands my dental work is costing, I can't scramble around like this.

Honestly, right now, what I need is to treat the Lyme (which I'm doing), but get something for the babs and get help w/ possible co-infections. I believe that improvement w/ these will help improve everything else. That seems to make the most sense.

Yeah, I know my CD57 is low enough to indicate Lyme. But it's quite a bit higher than many folks on here, so I thought maybe I was starting out in better shape. I don't really feel that way lately, but am hoping it's just the meds.

Thanks again -- I gotta go to work for a long day, but for you, I will try to look up the stuff he told me to order when I can. IF I haven't pitched a lyme fit and thrown it out!

Lyme,

I just wanted to let you know the 1bitten was real sick with Lyme and her CD57 started off in the 100's. Don't quote me, but I think she said it was in the 300's when she was her sickest.

Thanks, CG. Based on how I feel today, I believe it! And I did read that these results varied widely. I will be interested to see if that number comes up after more treatment!

Cajungrl, I think I read the Dr. B. believes that if a sick patient has a high CD57 they are probably ill with something other than LD such as a co-infection. But I've heard of others with a high score when they felt really bad, and others with a low score when they felt OK, this too is not a perfect test. KO

KO,

1Bitten would have to explain further. She was told that she had Lyme Disease. I think she also had co-infections too.
