Anyone feel they are done with the antibiotics pretty much but still have some lingering symptoms?

What are you doing about those symptoms?

Isn't it recommended to stay on abx until 2 months after resolution of sx?

Yes that is what they say. However, I believe we sometimes have some other things going on as well as our body needs to detox after being on abx for so long.

I think you do your best, go off when you and your LLMD feel it is time and see where you are.

I read somewhere that it can take up to a year after Lyme has gone into remission for our bodies to get back to where they belong. I believe that!

hopingtofindacure, hopefully you found one!
And I have lots of questions.
Do you still use cowden's protocol to be sure you remain in remission? Do you have any lingering symptoms that come up now and then? Did you have co-infections like bartonella? If so, did you get rid of the skin abnormalities that go along with it? Things like nodules under the skin, swelling, bumps along the bone. . . . .
How is you mind, your mental clarity, memory, emotional state? How is your energy and motivation?
Are you back to "your old self" or have you accepted a new normal that is a level below who you used to be?

When I went off abx I felt about 95% better. I had some mild lingering syptoms, but felt well enough to go off abx and maintain my health on my own. Well, after stopping I started feeling even better. I had an exercise routine that I worked out 6 days a week and that got me to 99.9% better. I never said I was 100% because I knew after such a long battle I wouldn't be "cured" but I was able to stay well on my own.

I went off antibiotics about 15 years ago. I was told that the problems I still had were probably permanent. Everything got a little better over the years but I never got back to what I was like before I got sick. In the past 15 years, I never got any worse either.

Whenever I've gotten worse, there has always been a definable, treatable reason and I went back to my post-lyme normal with treatment. I was on antibiotics for an extended period a few years ago and it didn't change how I felt. I haven't herxed on an antibiotic in over 15 years.

I live with the symptoms I still have and I try to eat right and exercise. That's it.
