Well the subject line pretty much says it all. I'm going to the infectious disease docs again tomorrow so what should I ask them to test for with these symptoms?  They are recurring.

I start feeling better for about 3 days,  then, BAM,  it's like I've got it all over again for a couple of days.  Finished Doxy about 3 weeks ago for Lyme,  but no other medications except Parkinson's meds for my uncontrollable spasms (I've taken Parkinson's meds before for the spasms and they do help.)

And what am I doing wrong???!!! redface Or is this normal?

Oh and I have moments where I suddenly itch like mad all over for several minutes then it goes away.  Any ideas what this is?

Hi strongmom,

I'm not familiar with your medical history, but if you were treated for lyme and "coinfections", it is possible your treatment was not long enough to actually get rid of the diseases. You may be experiencing a relapse. Make sure you have been tested for ALL the likely candidates----borrellia, bartonella, erlichia, mycoplasma, viruses etc.

Antibiotics can upset the natural balance of "good" organisms in your intestines. Be sure to take probiotics to help get rid of the "bad guys" that can cause diarrhea/upset. You may need digestive enzymes to help with this too. You should speak to your doc about all of this in case there is an infection in your intestines causing this.

The itching could be signs of an allergic/sensitivity reaction to something. The reaction could be to many things---like meds, foods, environment etc. I hope you can identify the cause soon. Anything new you have been exposed to ?

I'm glad you are seeing your doc. I hope you find relief soon.
Best wishes to you, bablymers mom

OMG I've had all those symtoms too lately.  I even jokingly thought I had H1N1 on top of LD.  Who knows??? Anyway, I see my LLDr. tomorrow and I'll see where to go from here.  I'd say it can't get any worse... but it always does - lol! rolleyes shocked smhair shocked rolleyes

I don't know but hope you get answers from your doctor. Be aware that all the strains do not test so your doctor should be open to a clinical diagnosis based upon symptoms. And you cannot kill it all in a few weeks of treatment - no way! Hope you find relief.

Thank you.  I will be talking to the docs tomorrow about coinfections--this could be Bart or Babesia--having symptoms for both.  We will see if anything interesting comes of tomorrows meeting.  Sigh.  Thanks again.

I was searching old posts for something and came across this post, as it is EXACTLY what I am going through today, add exhaustion though and a ton of stomach pain. I had 3 really good days then bam, all the symptoms above. I even did the detox bath hoping for some relief but no. I didn't even take my meds today because I can't really eat. I just had half a banana though.

Strongmom/JelaineP? What did your docs say about this?

I don't know either. But I recently was surprised to read bart symptoms can cycle every 5 days whereas lyme (borellia) often cycles every 28 days. Check your skin for bart if you suspect it: besides the typical stretch marks and "cat scratches", look for spider veins, lumps like marbles that hurt when you press them, lumps along the shin bone that don't hurt, swelling which does not dent like edema, peas size brown spots, loss of pigmentation in skin, pinhead size blood blisters. . . more I can't remember. Remember there are 32 known strains of bart and the labs check for only 2--3. Hot flashes without profuse sweating is often bart related, headache, painful shins or feet, spasms, and emotional problems. You also begin to feel disconnected from yourself and life as though nothing matters so it is very important to find it early.

Neff,

When you say disconnect, what exactly do you feel? I've been dealing with some weird feelings lately so I was wondering.

Do the brown spots look like flat moles? or are they lighter. I have been freezing all day and yesterday I was really hot all day, but didn't sweat. I had a baby this past year so I don't know what's stretch marks or not ya know. I do have new ones on my upper stomach. I definately have had changes in emotions in the past few days. I go from being really patient to just completely flipping over the smallest things. Then today I thought, God how long can I go with these ups and downs, no wonder people think about suicide. Then a minute later I thought, what the heck am I talking about?! That's crazy!

I just had my blood work done on Tuesday to check for co infections among other things like Thyroid. I won't find out the results for a few weeks.

I just read that Bart can be red patchy circles on the limbs, and I have that. On my legs. I had no idea what it was. Even went to the Dermatologist and he didn't say a thing. Ugh!!! I've had them or at least 9 months or so! Grrrrrr.

Pink dots (about the size of a pencil eraser) surrounded by white discs on the hands and feet, that come and go (more noticeable at night) - is this Bart, or just my body doing freaky things again?

Thanks,
