Well, ever since I started to learn about Lyme disease, the whole situation made me furious (and I know everyone here feels the same). I wanted to get involved in awareness events, but I either didn't have the time or energy, or I was too afraid of people thinking I was crazy (I have a relative who is a Dr and doesn't believe in Lyme).

Well- today, someone I know on facebook who also has Lyme sent me a trailer to UOS, with a link that allows you to send it to your friends, in support of the cause. Well, I did it! I sent it to almost all my friends. I started hyperventilating in the middle, and had to take a break, but I did it. It's not much, but it's a step forward for me. I need to stop being afraid of what other people will think, and start trying to get good information out there.

Next thing I want to do is write an article for my school newspaper, but I have too much brain fog and not enough time for that right now.

Nicky,

That is wonderful!! It takes alot of courage to do that and you did it! Do you mind supplying the link to the trailer you sent? I'd like to send this out myself. Others may want to do the same.

Hi. I hate to ask for computer advice, but every time I try to go to one of the links that isn't blue my computer won't connect. I copied the address from the post and put it on the bar at the top of my screen. I'd really like to see this. Am I doing something wrong?

Hey Nicky!!
You should never over-look the help you give here at HW!! It takes all of us to get through this - helping each other!!!

The other thing I have recently started, is when I'm asked, I tell people that I 'run into' in stores & such - that I suffer from chronic LD & other TBI's. It's amazing how many people have questions - real questions - about Lyme & other TBI's!!!

Remember - getting the word out can be as simple as opening up once in a while & letting people know what you are going through - just be careful to not go into a great deal of details unless they ask a specific question about something!

Geezz!!!! I sure hope that makes sense!!!!

I hear you Traveler about not going into details. Usually peoples eyes glaze over and they've already forgotton what you said, lol. Most people don't want to hear a long, drawn out explanation. Believe me! I know first hand, haha!

Seems as though we all have had the joy of seeing other eyes glazing over. =(
