Hello...As I posted recently I was recently infected with Lyme for the second time...actually for the second time in the last four years. I did get better the first time. But I had lasting effects from the antibiotics. Irritable bowel, malabsortion of food, yeasties...mostly gut problems.
Now with me being reinfected, I'm back on the drugs and it is NOT good. The drugs are not agreeing with me and I'm very sick to my stomach. And getting yeasties again. Doesn't matter how much probiotics, yogurt, avoidance of sugar, etc. I do. It is just not good. I cannot do this long term again.
Can anyone recommend a more natural approach? Just because my belly cannot tolerate this. It has nothing to do with which approach I think is more effective, I just cannot take this. Running to the bathroom constantly...and screaming in pain...the drugs are shredding my insides.
How about the vitamin C and salt approach? Where does one get these items? Is it effective in your opinion? If it is not effective, is it harmful?
I already do the epsom salt baths.
I have Cat's Claw on hand, but haven't been taking it....this is good against Lyme, right?
Is it more important that I stay on antibiotics now, then do alternative later? Or can I do alternative now? Because it's a new and recent infection? I've only been on abx for about 12 days and it's already just hell.
Thank You in advance!!

Hi Hol,
First - this is just MY OPINION!! I am not medically trained.

Ok - now that that's out of the way~
It really doesn't sound as if you were able to eradicate the infections. I have been reinfected a few times myself. Just can't control those urges to go out & play with them, I guess!!

As far as tx's- why don't you look at something like DR. J's at home tx?? There are a lot of natural/herbal/homeopathic tx available. There are also quite a few LLMD's that use BOTH abx & herbal/homeo tx's.

From what I have read, the 1 thing most docs DO agreee on is the need to detox - lots!! I'm doing the epsom salt/peroxide baths as well & starting the mustard foot bath tonight (just went to the store & got the ingredients today!).

Hope this helps some... =)
It's been said:LD patients can be as ill as people w/ congest. heart failure & in as much pain as post-op patients.

Look in the sticky at the top of the Lyme forum that says, "New To Lyme?.....Start Here!" You'll find a post from Deejavu with links for alternative treatment.

Thank You guys!!

Well, the first time around I really did seem to get rid of all Lyme symptoms, or they were under control, either way, works for me...

The first time I never saw a bite, this time, I was able to know it was somewhat recent as my doctor noted 3 tick bites on my hip and back area, resulting in 3 small bulls-eyes. And at the same time, the same familiar aches and pains showed up on my body. Not fun. And truth was, I really did forget how nasty Lyme is and was not careful about what I am doing outside. Ugh. Now as the second time, I don't ever want to play outside again.

I would have no problem using abx constantly but they really are making me so ill...I don't want to let Lyme get out of control, but I can't live like this, re abx side effects.

Cajungirl, LOVE the quote in your signature. SO true.
