How soon would someone have heart palpitations after a supposed tick bite..? Like 2-3 weeks? Or is that too soon?

Hi lovebug,

Welcome to the forum!

There's not really a definite answer to your question. It depends on where the bb infection is in your body.

Well.. 1.5 weeks ago I developed a rash on the inside of my elbow. It looked like a pimple at first.. then turned into what may have been a 1 inch bullseye... then the rash got to be 3.5 x 1.5 inches oval big. Went to the regular primary care doc, she gave a steroid creme and told me to come back in 6 weeks for a test with her "expecting it to be negative" she says.. after abut 8 days the rash has almost disapeared.. sort of it is only about an inch now, but with the faintest red line around it. The itching was intense and was bumpy. Now I've started some wicked heart palpitations that come on for NO reason and hang around for hours.. I've had a stuffy nose, with a dry cough.. The symptoms list is so extensive I'm sure everybody could pick some stuff of the list.. even those without lyme..

Well maybe 1-2 weeks before this I did have a small bug on me and it was SO insignificant to me at the time I just flicked it off (it wasn't attached it was walking.. ew).

I live in an area that has prevalent lyme problems, loudoun county.

btw - I didn't know it was a "tick" until I had looked up lyme stuff.. I thought it was a BABY spider.. I've only ever seen black ticks like on a dog... we're fairly new to VA and all the different looking ticks..

Hi again lovebug,

I'm sure it's very possible to have heart palpitations now. Make sure you get tested for co-infections as well. Doctors usually like to treat co-infections first.

Fatigue, tiredness, poor stamina

Irritable bladder or bladder dysfunction
Sexual dysfunction or loss of libido

Chest pain or rib soreness
Shortness of breath, cough
Heart palpitations, pulse skips, heart block

Headache
Neck creeks and cracks, neck stiffness, neck pain
Tingling, numbness, burning or stabbing sensations, shooting pains
Facial paralysis (Bell's Palsy)
Eyes/Vision: double, blurry, increased floaters, light sensitivity
Ears/Hearing: buzzing, ringing, ear pain, sound sensitivity

If I were you, I would get tested especially since you had what looked like a bulls eye rash. Did you happen to take a picture of it? You should also find a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor to do the testing for you. They understand each Lyme band better than regular doctors.

If you decide to get an LLMD, let me know and I can provide you with information.

I know it is starting to fade, but try and get a picture of it...with something next to it to reference size. If you can, do this asap.

You just might need this for future reference!
