Is lyme tied to EBV? My son tested positve to EBV and had very low vit D levels. His western blot showed some positive but not to where the doc would treat him. She gave him vit D and told him it would solve all of his problems. I am wondering if the positive EMV has something to do with lyme. I tested positive to Lyme back in June and have been on Doxy for 16 weeks.
I appreciate the help

Hi 'Mom'**Giggle!
I was dxed with Chronic/Acute EBV back in 1988(?). At the time, I was told that my levels of the EBV would not allow me to continue to work. Since I was a single mother of two at the time, that just couldn't be!

I did a lot of research reading- back then it was through libraries!!- and discovered that 99 % of the U.S. population carries this virus. Just a large majority of them never become symptomatic.

From what I have read on any connection to LD, is that when a person has a chronic viral issue, the body is much more likely to contract something like LD, or at least at that point, become symptomatic. I think it can work the other way around as well -

if one has LD (even if you are not symptomatic), then that person has a much higher chance of becoming symptomatic with viral infections.

It's all about the stress load on our bodies. rolleyes
It's been said:LD patients can be as ill as people w/ congest. heart failure & in as much pain as post-op patients.

Thats exactly right Traveler. It wasnt until I experienced a really bad mold exposure that everything else took off in my body, including EBV, Lyme and chronic staph infections.  D

Great explanation Traveler!

I think stress started it all up for me. I had EBV too, along with CMV, HHV-6 and Mycoplasma.

The way I see it is that if I can explain enough things, the odds will be with me that I WILL get a couple of them right!!! =)
