Anyone else have trouble with this?  It's a relatively new symptom for me (since late Summer).  It comes and goes but at times it's pretty excruciating.  Pain meds only help a bit.   Anyone have any ideas of what could help?

Thanks.

Hi Needshelp!
This is something I seem to be blessed with!! Ha! I keeep having bouts of it, sometimes I can go for months and then ... yep, theerrreee baaaaacckk!!!!!

The only thing I have found to help mine are using ice packs. But be careful not to allow you brain to get too cold!! If I use an ice pack for too long at the base of my skull, I can sure get a wicked headache!!!

Hope this will help you at least a little bit!!

I've had that problem too.  Pain meds help.  What I've been told is that the soft tissue at the base of your skull and neck are very attractive to the Lyme bugs.  My pain is in my neck now.  I wear a neck brace when on the computer.  I have another neck support pillow I wear when driving, watching TV and sleeping.  I did get lidocaine shots in my neck near the base of my skull.  It did not help that much.

Try some neck support and see if that helps.

Wish I had better answers.

I got rid of my headaches that I suffered from for years. When I got a headaches that sounds just like what is described in this post and what people talked about in the comments. When I had a headache I could not function. It shut me down. I suffered very badly until I googled these six words “pain at base of skull sinus” and I got my life back! I will never forget them. You should check it out.
