Hi All,

My script for the antibiotic says take on empty stomach, then the insert said take with food. Well I think food is the way to go since, I only ate a yogurt with it and I start to dry heave after a while. Anyone agree with taking it with food, or do you take it on empty stomach anyways?

Anyone taking vitamin B shots as well? I administer them to myself, does anyone else? My doc said everyday is fine, still I feel tired. I've been on them for three days, when will the energy kick in?

Also, I'm on birth control, how much will the antibiotics interfer with it?

Thanks for all you answers.

Very mild left sided (could have fooled me with the "mild")  UC.Just found out 4 years into it I might have Lyme's Disease, going to a LLMD in December. Started and stopped LDN ON 1/25/09 to mid May no improvements. Tried Asacol, Pentesa, Colozol, Sulfasulsadine and Lialda, they made me worse. A range of antibiotics, not much better. Supplements: Threelac, multi, iron,Allimed Allicin, Apple Cider Vinegar, very low yeast/sugar/wheat  No UC meds at this time.

therearemiracles,

How are you doing?

Please read this site because it has very important information about the do's and dont's of Doxycycline:

www.ehow.com/i/#article_2165217

Are you giving yourself B-12 injections? What form of B-12 is it? Sometimes it does take time for your body to adjust if you were deficient.

As far as birth control goes, it states to use other forms of protection for sexual activity because antibiotics make birth control less potent. If you are using birth control to stop your cycles like I am, then it shouldn't interfere with that.

therearemiracles,

Go to ehow.com and type, "How to avoid Doxycycline side effects" in the search bar.

Sorry about that.

LOL!!!!!!!!! @ mother natures child. When I first read that, I thought oh boy... she's not having a good day. She must have either posted to the wrong thread, or it's just a random thought. LOL I get it now, and it's hilarious.

OMGOSH that is funny, I just got it too! I had to re-read what you all were saying and I look back at hers. Thank you so much! I know not to mess around with this antibiotic.

Thanks,
Linda
