Hi,

My doctor recommended it for me, but by the time I found someone in my area who could do it, I was starting to feel better, and didn't need it anymore. But I've heard good things about it from other people.

I have experience with taking bonded cysteine, which has a similar effect. Both IV Glutathione and bonded cysteine raise glutathione. Would you like to know my experience?

Dear Bucci,

It's nice to meet you.

I have been taking bonded cysteine (also called Immunocal) for the last 3 1/2 years. My experience has been a tremendous increase in energy and well being, since I used to be exhausted all the time. Immunocal works by doing one thing- safely raising and sustaining glutathione. Are you already familiar with glutathione?

My husband has been taking it as well, and his high blood pressure has gradually returned to normal and a persistent foot fungus has finally grown out and gone away on its own.

Do you have a question about raising your glutathione levels and what impact this may have on either Hepatitis C or Lyme Disease? I have a home based business where I educate others about glutathione, so it would be my pleasure to do some research for you. You can also learn more on my website.

Click on the about us button to see myself and my husband and read our story.

Bucci: (Beware of people adverstising on here. Just a heads up for you.)

I did glutathione Ivs for a year, twice a week and felt much better with them. If you have a doctor in your area that does them, I would try it. Glutathione helps the body detox so works for other conditions in addition to Lyme Disease.   D

Dowa and Bucci,

Thanks for the heads up. I always clearly identify who I am, so a person knows they need to do additional research on their own in addition to what I say. Since I represent Immunocal, you have to view what I say with skepticism until you have a chance to independently verify the information.

You are correct that glutathione also helps the body to detox. IV glutathione treatments are effective in raising your glutathione levels. Glutathione is your body's master antioxidant, immune system optimizer, detoxifier, energy restorer, and antiaging protein.

IV glutathione treatments raise glutathione in the blood plasma, but not in the lymphocytes, where it is needed for the immune system to exert its full potential. It also has a short half life and can be intrusive and expensive, requiring repeated treatments for best effect. Given this, it is still quite effective, and many use it like you have with good success.

There are many well studied ways to raise glutathione other than IV Glutathione and Immunocal, although these two methods are quite effective. The two most thoroughly studied ways to raise and sustain glutathione are with N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), an over the counter pharmaceutical with potentially toxic side effects, and bonded cysteine ( See Wikipedia - "Glutathione" under "supplementation").

The link in my signature will point you to a page based on Dr. Jimmy Gutman's book "Glutathione - Your Key To Health" and some of these things may also be obtained in the drug store or health food store, like milk thistle, melatonin, and alpha lipoic acid. You can take these along with your IV glutathione to maximize its effectiveness. You should also take the necessary co-factors with your IV glutathione, and a good quality multivitamin should cover that for you.

My apologies. There is enough information there for you to be able to raise your glutathione, regardless of the method you choose.

Either way, I wish you great health! You are on the right path.

Good health to you.
