Disclaimer: I realize everyone has allergies, and complications that require special diet. Furthermore, some medications come with clear writing of what not to eat, etc. But can we atleast discuss food that are good to eat for normal times or what you are eating on a daily basis when on abx and any other question you have about any other food and recommendations.

Hi,
Please read Dr Burroscano's guidelines, at the end it explains very well what to eat, foods to avoid and supplements. I am following his advice 100% and have 0 problems with my doxycycline (400mg a day)

pepphell,

I drank protein shakes while on treatment. It had very low sugar. Just make sure the sugar is very low. Some of the protein bars and shakes are loaded with sugar. Anything with protein is great for you. Eggs, salmon, chicken are all good to eat. I usually eat oatmeal in the morning with a tiny bit of low fat milk and I sweeten it with steevia and add blueberry's to it. It's really good. Or, you could scramble some eggs or even eat it boiled or pouched. For lunch, I usually eat a piece of chicken, salmon or a turkey burger if I get bored with the others. Veggies and a fruit is great with it. Strawberry's, blueberry's, apples.....I will have to get my list for the rest. I will let you know. For super, pretty much the same thing as lunch but I mix things around.

In between meanls, you can snack on almonds. Almonds are full of protein. Sometimes, I pop some popcorn that is low in butter and salt.

Cajun Girl,

Much thanks. I read dr. burrasco guidelines and am following it as much as I can. I am vegetarian and seems like the only thing to eat during disease is meat cuz they are rich in protein. But I am still focusing on soy, tofu, and eggs. I'll figure out a way to make protein shakes will have to learn since i've never really cooked or made anything myself in my life (now I am strictly eating indoors)

I can't give up everything, so I've switched to brown rice now (good in fiber, probotics, yogurt, grapefruit etc as per guidelines).

The abx are already make my pain go a bit.. today i feel better able to walk and streching as much as I can without getting tired. (but mild pain has started in left knee now). my sleep disorder and itchiness and buzz in ears is kicking in. Do you always wake up in the middle of the night and feel that you've haven't been sleeping at all?
Now a days when I wake up, i dont feel sleepy. I pass this symptom as old age. I can't wait to see this LLMD. Butter is supposed to be good actually since its dairy.

Also, do you know what is the take on lentils while on doxy? the lentils are good in protien and fiber, but does it also produce starch?? shouldn't be starchy. Beans is starchy so i am avoiding it, but they are an excellent source of protein and fiber for vegetarians. I am feeling hungry all the time now, and i know its not good cuz salad can't fill you.

ineisa: when you take doxy, do you have upset stomach? i've having it, right after 3 hrs into doxy, i have to hit the bathroom. Also what time do you take doxy? I am also assuming you dont take vitamins and diary within 2 hrs, of doxy. Since i have to take doxy 2ice, that is for 8 hrs i can't eat much. in the morning I take after brkfast, 10am. in the night i take after dinner, around 10pm.

pepphell.

Be careful with the grapefruit. It doesn't go well with some antibiotics and some medications.
