It took a while but my insurance company finally approved my latest antibiotic. Doctor had ordered zithromax 500mg to be taken daily. The insurance company approved 3. The doctor contacted the insurance company and they approved 30 per month for the next year. I started it yesterday and am hoping for no side effects. I am taking a good probiotic twice a day but worry about yeast. What do you all do to prevent yeast?

Thanks

If you can afford Kefir, it has over 10 different healthy bacteria for the gut - or you could 'grow' your own. I am almost to the point where I can keep up with one more thing, so I will be growing my own soon, hopefully!!!
Otherwise, acidophilus, lots of it (!!), around 10 or more million 'units' will help. Not to mention good yogurt with live cultures, or buy acidophilus from a health food store- in the refrigerate case- is a good start.

I'm really happy that your insurance finally saw the need for your health!!! CONGRATS!!

It's been said:LD patients can be as ill as people w/ congest. heart failure & in as much pain as post-op patients.

Yay! I'm so glad your insurance is covering this.

If you are worried about yeast, following a yeast free diet (google candida elimination diet) can be helpfully. Basically, non-complex carbs like bread, pasta etc, and sugar can feed yeast.
