Can thick, strangling mucus in the back of the throat be related to Lyme? I've had this really badly for the last two weeks -- it's the middle of winter so I don't think it's allergy related. I'm on major anti-biotics so I don't think it's an infection. But it's DRIVING ME CRAZY! I'm taking Mucinex, doing the saline wash 2x/day, and I've event tried Sudafed and antihistamines.

Is this Lyme related and what else can I do to help?

My LLMD always told me that was a major sign of Yeast.

Treated Yeast for 6 months and I have yet to have that problem again, I am happy to say!

Ugh. I should have guessed - I have always had a yeast issue. But I'm doing everything I think I can -- high-quality probiotics; low sugar diet; and a yeast cleanse supplement. Any other suggestions to curb yeast?

To be honest, the only thing that did the trick for me (after trying many things) was 6 months on Diflucan. That can be hard on the liver, but it is what finally killed the yeast for me.

Ehrlichia can also cause sinus problems...

So can viral infections...

And mold/fungal allergies are more common in winter, and dust allergies can occur year-round.

And some trees are starting to pollenate (yes, they start in winter).

I use Peaceful Mountain's Nasal Rescue - it is a colloidal silver nasal spray I found at a local health food store.  It helps the unending sinus drainage/post nasal drip problems I've had for years (not from yeast in my case - I have very bad sinus allergies and bacterial infection problems).
