I'm interested in everyone's yeast control plan? Diet, supplements, etc--what do you do to control yeast overgrowth, especially while on antibiotics?

The only thing that worked for me personally, to clear up all the yeast, was to be on Diflucan for 6 months.

My wife uses a homeopathic remedy called Yeast Ease made by Jernigan Nutraceuticals and it works very good for her.

I am using probiotics (essential formula) twice on empty stomach, limiting yeast intake, and using pleo fort 4x after each meal.

Many health food stores have candida cleanse kits or supplements. Olive Leaf extract and grapefruit seed extract are supposed to help. You want to take cleansing supplements on on empty stomach to get them quickly into the intestines to kill the yeast there. Food in the stomach will delay the release into the intestines where they are needed. Also, yeast feeds on carbs and sugars so you have to eliminate as many of them as possible, as well fruit sugars, alcohol, vinegar and more. You can get a herx reaction from candida die off, so you have to take it slowly. Lots of info on the internet about candida and its symptoms and how to fix it. Odd thing is candida overgrowth causes many of the same symptoms as Lyme, so it is hard to tell which is actually responsible for how you are feeling at times.

Preventative: 4 Primadophilus caps 2 times a day. Low sugar and refined carb diet. Yoghurt and Kerfir. Good hydration. Salt baths after intimacy.

Yeast overgrowth cure: Yeast Cleanse (anything with some combo of caprylic acid, grapefruit seed extract, and pau d'arco. Plenty of water. No sugar or refined carbs.

Yeast infection of any orifice: Throat - salt gargle and then suck on acidophilus tabs. Privates - salt bath and then apply yoghurt where uncomfortable. Monistat 3 or 5 day for vaginal infection. Hold off on any intimacy (friction can cause small injuries that can encourage the yeast). Avoid epsom salt baths if having vaginal or other problems.

Rest and staying stress free seems to help. Also, if you have a break out, be sure to wash all your towels bedding etc to be sure you don't keep infecting yourself -- Candida is on everything but loves things like damp towels.

I agree great information.  However, why avoid epsom salt with vaginal problems? I have been using it for years and did not know about this. Thank you   D

It can increase any burning an itching of externally irritated skin/tissue. If the vaginal problem hasn't gone that far, then it wouldn't be uncomfortable.
