I took my  husband to a doctor  weeks ago for a test.    They did a couple blood tests and the lyme test.  weeks went and they called and said the liver enzymes are up,  but that was it.  I waited longer and called them.  She  told me I had to wait until the doctor was done with a patient so he could call.  Eventually the nurse called,to me.  I never mentioned that I talked to someone on the pohone and they said  no active lyme found. I didnt want anyone beiong to make something up just to satisfy me.  I want the real report.  I'm tired of the waiting.

I also want tests done for the other infections that go with lyme  like babesia,  does Igenex do these tests  also.

Has anyone here used them and how did you go about this.  I have no health insurance so I have to pay cash for all of this.all information is appreciated,  thank you.

Hi Marquis,

Welcome to the forum! You will also want to get tested for the co-infections, Babesia, Bartonella, Mycoplasma, Ehrlichia.

Here is Igenex information:

Igenex Information:

You can order the Western Blot and Co-infections tests through Igenex. If you go to their site, there's information there that list what tests to order.

www.Igenex.com

Here is their contact information:

Here are the symptoms of each co-infection and the antibiotics taken to eradicate them:

Description, symptoms, and treatments of co-infections:

Babesiosis:- is a malaria-like protozoa illness that invades, infects, and kills the red blood cells. Symptoms include fatigue, night sweats, chills, fever, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, headache, dark urine, muscle pain, joint pain, nausea, and jaundice. Treatment is an anti-malarial combined with an antibiotic--often Mepron with Zithromax (or Biaxin or Ketek).

Ehrlichiosis:- is a bacterial infection that invades and infects the white blood cells. There are two types of Ehrlichiosis: Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis (HME) and Human Granulocytic Ehrlichiosis (HGE). Symptoms include malaise, fever,
sweating, nausea, dry cough, headache, muscle aches and
pain. Treatment is most often Doxycycline.

Bartonella:- also known as cat-scratch fever is a bacterial infection. Symptoms include swollen, painful lymph nodes, muscle and/or joint pain, nausea, vomiting, chills, anxiety, insomnia, red rashes. Treatment is often Levaquin or Rifampin.

Mycoplasma:- is a bacterial infection. Symptoms include fatigue, breathing problems,
headache, muscle pain and soreness, nausea, lymph node pain, and cognitive problems. Treatment
is usually Doxycycline, Minocycline, Azithromycin, Clarithromycin, or Ciprofloxacin.

Hope this helps:)

My liver enzymes stay elevated too. Just so you know, Ehrlichiosis can cause elevated liver enzymes.
