Does anyone have ligament/tendon pain as a side effect of the above? It' s not the same as the pain caused by Lyme for sure.

Hmmmm, I've never heard of those two causing ligament or tendon pain but that doesn't mean that it cannot happen. Levaquin is the antibiotic that usually causes those symptoms. Maybe do a google search and see what comes up.

Need Some zs,

I began treatment for my Lyme/Bart in 9/07, went after the mycoplasma, coninfections, Parvo until I started the Doxy 400 mg daily,Mycobutin in March 08.  I showed improvement and then had debiliatating wrist, ankle/foot joint pain about nine months into treatment.  The doc took my off the Mycobutin as he was concerned about the side effects causing the pain.

As soon as I stopped the treatment, the pain subsided.  We went into another treatment protocol after both of my kids had elevated eonisophil cationic protein levels which suggested latent babesia, taking Mepron/Zithro for one year.  My now 14 yr old daughter has had tremendous improvement, while my 17 years old son has severe neuro symptoms which I suspect is from his lack of discipline in taking the prescribed dosages to stay on top of the infection.

I continue to suffer from lower back pain, stiff joints, especially in my hip flexors and the upper and lower back.  This disease is so hard because you have to discern between the side effects of the antiobiotics, the herxs, and the symptoms of the late stage of the condition.

Keep the faith!  I would love to hear of others with side effects of the mycobutin.
