I am afraid now of any kind of form that needs information because I  have screwed so many up.  Now I ask someone to do it..  I also can not pay bills I gave that up years ago they were getting lost or the electric bill went to the garbage bill.   Anybody do this?

Oh yes...I put the amount and signed the wrong lines on a check the other day. And I've had times when trying to pay bills, in which I look at the number on the bill and by the time I look at the check to write the amount on the check, I've forgotten what the amount was, even if the bill is right next to the check! So frustrating!

My wife has accompanied me to all doctor appointments and has completed all of the required forms this past year. It takes me way to long.

Yes, three cheers for our helpmates. Goodness, Roses, you are accomplishing a lot!

I did not get help for the paperwork and bill-paying and I wish I had. I am finding now that I missed bills, paid things twice, filed things in really very surprising places and all sorts of other mistakes that ended up literally costing me money.

I think I held on to doing it without help to maintain some kind of dignity and empowerment, but it really just lead to a lot of frustration and a feeling of defeat. Both my husband and sister were ready and willing to help and I should have let them.

Ithanku for saying I do a lot even if its not true :) I understand you wanting to hold on so did Ibut once I accepted that there was going to be sick days, but well days too and that for now there were some things better done by someone else. I felt peace. and relief also. I am a control freak (or was) and so this was not a easy decision.
