Other than being intolerant to high temps, is there any reason not to be in the sun with Lyme disease? It seems to me there was one Lyme doc that advised against it. Anyone know the reason? Thanks~ D

A lot of lymies experience photophobia, so tend to avoid the sun. If you can tolerate it, then the warmth and Vit D have got to be good for you. Unless you are following the Marshall Protocol, as Razzle says.

Yes, the sun is good for you as long as you don't stay out too long. I think the requested time was 10-15 minutes. If you are taking Doxy or anything that can cause a burn, I'd avoid the sun until you are done with the medication.

Thanks everyone. It was the Marshall Protocal that I was thinking of. Why is it he does not recommend the sunshine? I am not familar with his work/research. I went out in the sun yesterday as usual and last night had what I would call hives. Just trying to figure out what happened... I LOVE the sunshine. Thanks~ D

Marshall Protocol restricts Vitamin D from any/all sources, including the sun.

Hives from the sun may be a herx, may be a lupus-like reaction to the sun caused by Lyme/coinfections, or may be a reaction to something else outside (pollen, for example). I'd check with your LLMD about this if I were you...
