Just wanted to remind everyone May is Lyme disease awarness month here in the U.S. Please help to educate other in your neighborhood. Some ideas would be to make a sign to post in your yard, or tie lime "lyme" green ribbons around trees on your property for the month of May.
I have made a simple 3'x3' sign that simply says Lyme disease awarness that I will be posting in my front yard. I also have a couple of mature trees I will tie Lyme green ribbons to. Since my neighbor is a health clinic, and my garage is adjacent to their large parking lot, I will be painting a Lyme green ribbon roughly 3'x5' on the side of my garage to be in full view. My wife may kill me....but it's for a good cause : )

I'm preparing to do the same. Can you believe one of my old Rheumatologist's office is approx. 1 block from where I live. He CLINICALLY mis-dx'ed my with RA. I might just have to add lime green balloons and a big sign in his parking lot - I'll let ya'll know if I get the cajones to do so and the repuctions if I do.

I have to find things worth getting in trouble for, this appears to be a great outlet... I'll take pictures (if I can) and post them when I do.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mothers and Children out there with LD!

We'll win or I'll die trying!

I am glad to hear it. I bought plastic "Lyme Disease - A Hidden Epidemic" bracelets for me and my family to wear. My children have pledged to wear them and to spread the word. My daughter has volunteered for a Lyme Walk to help raise money for research. As far as I am concerned, every month will be Lyme Awareness month until it gets the kind of recognition and acceptance that are warranted.
I was happy to read in our local paper that the community hospital is sponsoring, for healthcare providers and the general public, a Lyme conference on May 22. YES! After more than a decade of misdiagnosis, and worse, I can certainly attest to the need for that. Times are changing.

I have Lyme; it doesn't have me.

Love the painted ribbon idea for the garage, if I was your wife I would be helping in the painting.
Way to go Cheezhead, I will be helping in the spread of awareness.
