Hi,
I live in Rockland County on the Hudson near the NJ boarder and need to find a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor.
After many years of suffering everything seems to point to a chronic case of Lyme disease.
The list of suffering is long, the worst being severe disabling headaches and migraines and neurological problems of burning, tingling, numbness, knee and elbow pain, urinary track problems, sinus problems, digestive system problems, sleeplessness, night sweats, loss of memory and brain fog, and more and more frequent phases of total exhaustion, not to mention depression, mood swings, anxiety etc.
I need to find a doctor who can tell me if this is lyme and if I can be treated.
Thanks.

Hoffnung,

Sorry for all the suffering you are experiencing. Your symptoms sound like classic lyme symptoms. Do you recall ever being bit by a tick and developing a bulls eye rash?

You are obviously doing your homework for you to know you need to see and LLMD. That's the very first thing you should do and a very wise decision you've made.

If you would click my email icon button and send me an email I will be glad to send you a list of links to websites that provide LLMD referrals. I'm sorry you had to end up on a Lyme forum, but since you did, you've come to the right place!

Hang in there and don't give up. You can beat this disease!

Hi Gary,
Thank you for your supporting words.
I had over a hundred tick bites in my life, ticks love me and find me anywhere.
But I never developed a rash.
Please could you post the websites you mention on this forum?
Then they would be accessible to others with similar issues.
And the idea of the forum is to stay anonymous in our suffering,
based on previous experience I think this is a good idea.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks. H.

Hoffnung,

I prefer not to post the websites but I can give you the email address for the ILADS. They will be able to provide you with a list of LLMD's in your area. contact@ilads.org There are other websites that others here can post here but the ones I post I prefer to be more discreet with them. You need to be careful about some of the websites you go to because not all of the LLMD's are ILADS members. Sometimes it's alright if they're not a ILADS member depending on who they are, but for the most part, you'll want to be treated by a ILADS LLMD.

ILADS should be able to help you.

Gary,
Thanks, I tried to email ILADS but the email bounced although the address is on their website. Not sure why.
I also have some contact through
The Lyme Disease Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania and try to get LLMDs from them.
One doctor I got recommended takes $950 for a first 2 hour visit and no insurance.
Is this what I should expect from any LLMD or is it worth to try to find a more affordable knowlegable doctor?
Thank you for your help,
H.
