My sister died in 2004. Sparing the details…at graveside a situation developed that brought up the question as to whether or not the cremated remains were really my sister. (It was heartbreaking.) The coroner got involved, and to make a long story short, the cremated remains were sent to a forensic lab for dna testing.

A sample of my dna was taken for comparison. Only six months before her death had the science even been developed to test such deteriorated cremains. Testing was done on the mitochondria of both samples and after seven months it was determined with a 99.9% certainty that we were not a match. (As you can imagine that funeral home was shut down.)

On a side note (God is so amazing!) the mitochondria is passed down from the mother only. My Mom was definitely our mother. My sister was nine years younger than me, I remember Mom being pregnant and bringing this precious bundle of joy home.

Anyway, does anyone know if this kind of testing on the mitochondria is related to the energetic blueprint? Not sure if I am asking that question right.

Feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

This is one topic I know nothing about..  First of all, I'm so sorry about the loss of your sister and what happened afterward.

I found this:

"Much of what we know about these diseases has been discovered since 1940. In 1959, the first patient was diagnosed with a mitochondrial disorder. In 1963, researchers discovered that mitochondria have their own DNA or "blueprint" (mtDNA), which is different than the nuclear DNA (nDNA) found in the cells' nucleus.

Mitochondrial and metabolic medical conditions are now referred to as mitochondrial cytopathies. Mitochondrial cytopathies actually include more than 40 different identified diseases that have different genetic features. The common factor among these diseases is that the mitochondria are unable to completely burn food and oxygen in order to generate energy."

Deejavu, thank you for your kind words.

I found the links you shared quite interesting. Wet my appetite and did some of my own google searching. Oh, WOW! I don't have my answer yet, but it's amazing what I'm learning.
