For more than two years now, I've been troubled with small bumps on the side and back of of my tongue (no
open sores). Also, underneath my tongue (called frenulum) that holds your tongue to the bottom of your mouth gets very sore and reddened at times. Hurts to talk when it's really gets sore. There has also have been times where my tongue gets thick on the side of it, occurs when these bumps increase and it effects my speech, words that begin with st.
I've been treated for Lyme disease for 2 yrs. now and this was one of my first three symptoms. Tongue, intermittent swollen neck glands, and severe muscle twitching and several more symptoms six months later. Primarily, I've been treated with Doxy, Zithromycin, and Flagyl for the last couple years which my symptoms have subsided by 90%. Dr. now switched me to Ceftin and Biaxin and we'll see if that takes away the tongue issue and the occasional joint flare ups.
Anyone have any similar problems with their tongue? Related to Lymes?
