I will NEVER consent to take clindamycin again! I was given it by my LLMD for possible MRSA....I think I'd rather have MRSA!

I have the following symptoms:

1. ANXIETY to the max!
2. Serious INSOMNIA (haven't really slept in days)
3. the WORST diarrhea I've ever had! (and I have celiac disease, so I've had some!)
4. the urge to clench my jaw or grind my teeth....almost impossible to relax my jaw muscles.

Google "clindamycin insomnia" and get hits like: http://www.topix.com/forum/drug/clindamycin/T9L5QQ5K1JA51RSK6

Apparently many other people experience these and additional charming side effects, and some don't recover for MONTHS! sad

Thought I should let people know.....

My sister had MRSA...I'm not sure what they gave her, but she has been having dizzy spells since she was treated, and that was six months ago.

I'm afraid of that drug; have turned it down in the past. Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope you are feeling better now.

Thanks Rose....yes, I feel better today. I may need to get tested for C. diff though, my doctor wants me to. The diarrhea has slowed way down now since my LLMD took me off all of my abx, and I've been able to sleep with a little help from my pain medication, Dilaudid.

Here's another website that has TONS of personal horror stories of encounters with clindamycin:

I can't believe that this drug is still on the market!
