I've become a person who does not know how to sleep. (OR be normal!!)  For much of my adult life, I haven't known how to sleep like a normal person.. Been on medications, including sleep for almost 10 yrs.

Is insomnia more a herx or a side effect of Augmentin?  I cannot find consistent reports/answers anywhere.

Was sleeping great up til a few days ago. (granted, was a bit sleep deprived then...) And started Augmentin about 3 weeks ago.

Insomnia has always been one of my worst symptoms. I haven't had a good night's sleep in years. It's definitely a symptom of Lyme, as well as other infections. If it continues, I would consult your doctor because you will not be able to recover if you don't get proper sleep.

well, as I stated above, sleep has not been a problem up til recently (even tho I have to take drugs to sleep). The insomnia, which is not real severe right now, thanks to meds, has started, even w/ meds. I know it's a Lyme symptoms, but in my case wondered if it's possibly Augmentin or herx?

Ah, I misread that. OK, so you've had sleep problems, but the medications have helped you sleep until now.

Insomnia is listed as a very rare side effect of Augmentin. I think the the only way to know for sure would be to stop taking it for a while to see if your sleep returns to where it was.

It could possibly be a herx reaction since a herx can be worsening of existing symptoms or new symptoms that you've never had before. It would be tricky to figure out whether it was a herx or not. You could stop your medication for a while, but then that would probably make your infection worse, which wouldn't really tell you anything.
