This was asked at the bottom of another thread and I was curious on this.
I work in Information Technology and had a manager that did not want me to go to HR about medical leave at all.  So I just took over some less intense thinking work and did what I could to keep my head above water - missed a lot of work (well....I wouldn't say I missed it, lol) for doctor's appointments, lab appointments, etc.  Thankfully I was salaried and could make up my time on off hours and all was well.  I also used to work from home 2 days a week which was great because I didn't have to get dolled up for work and could sleep on my lunch hour if I needed to.  I did use a week's vacation for sick leave when I was herxing really badly from treatment the first time.  I also took modified medical leave for a few weeks afterwards so I was allowed to work up to 6 hours a day max.
I just started a new job in July and so far I've been doing ok - I try to accomplish a ton on my good days so it makes up for the bad days.  Brain fog is a PITA if you're a knowledge worker!!
What's your situation?  Have you been able to stay at work?  Any helpful ideas?

It is difficult Marlene. There have been days when I had to go back to bed after my shower to "recover" for a bit. Its good to have something flexible too. I have 2 side businesses that I run VERY sporadically, but it works for what they are. I find it totally best to keep busy because I really tend to be a lump when I don't HAVE to do something. It's hard to get there, but I'm usually glad I did - as long as I don't overdo it and end up in bed for a couple days.

you watched Under our Skin, right Marlene? I'm a soooooo like the girl that went on tour with U2 - except i watch her and thing A. there's NO way I could walk up or down that many steps or haul around that luggage. But I definitely stay pretty busy - it PALES in comparision to what I used to be able to do.

prayers for you too marlene!
