For those of you who have read my   'HELP !!!'  post about my newly developed and severe stiff neck:

I have decided (after some research on the kind of neck pain I was having, which did not feel muscular) that it's really my Lymph glands that are swollen and hurting, not my neck muscles.

There are quite a few Lymph glands in various locations in the neck and base of skull.  Some are deep and can't be felt with your fingers.

Anyway--- and no thanks to my doctor offering this diaganosis---my Lymph glands must be raging in their attempt to fight bacteria.

Lymph glands can also fight (if that's the right word) a virus too.  But I DO think (as other members have pointed out) that my neck pain is  Lyme related.....ergo:  it's the Lyme bacteria that has gotten my glands all worked up.

Hope this a good thing! ---meaning that my body is finally recognizing the bacteria and is trying to fight it ????

This makes me wonder, that if I got another Lyme blood test NOW.... it would finally show a positive ???

Heating pads and Ibuprophin have helped....and the pain is now mostly on the right side of my neck instead of both sides. It is getting better.

However,  I have this pouchy thing going on under my chin-- like fluid of some kind is collecting-- and neck is slightly swolllen on right side creating some wrinkles.   I look like an old lady with turkey waddle!  Yikes!

Any thoughts on  Lymph glands ???  Am I self-diagnosing in the right direction?

Hi Cat!
I know for me I have had some pretty horrible pain from my Lymph glands before, but I have also had the whole muscular thing with my neck as well.

Remember- you are the only one who can know whether or not it's your muscles or your Lymph glands that are creating your pain.

Are you needing a positive test result because of insurance?

Hi Traveler,

No...not needing a positive for insurance....just for my own satisfaction.

Maybe will shove it in the face of first doctor who doubted me. I think some of these doctors could use a good shove!

Well, I can certainly understand why you would want to do that, although I'm not sure that it would do much good.

I also understand that we all have to do what we have to do!!!! ;)

Cat, My neck glands always swell up when I am sick. also do you feel like a nudule on your neck tube? I get it on the right side . like this little knot that feel black n blue.

This used to be major thing and also migraine on right side of head and then going down shoulder. THICK blood is what my doctor kept telling me and I didn't believe it untill I got on the heparin shots and now it very rarely happens.

I am off the heparin shots but did take them for 8 months. Last week I was getting sick again and the neck thing started and I did my shots for a night , a morning and then another night and it is much better.

Everyone would benifit from having an ISAC panel . I feel like a broken record always bringing this up and there are other ways to treat thick blood other than heparin shots but it depends on just how thick your blood is. you can actually have a stroke.

This test is covered by medicaire so every other insurance must cover it.

google ISACS panel and thick blood and lyme.

Otherwise that sore black and blue neck thing I know what you mean. do you hear your neck cracking all over?
20 yrs of doctors . DEC. 2009 tested positive for lyme, bartonella, ehrichiosis, HHPV6, chlamadyal pneumonia .
parasites :strongylides, diaoebia fragialis, hook worm.

Hi
My lymph nodes used to swell up in neck, ouch but go away kinda like a traveling migratory symptom and i was sick BUT

my daughter had this like omg thing sticking right out the gland was so bit it was stickin out of her neck, took her to doc doc said this signaled she was going to get sick, she did get sick for all I know that was the beiginning of treat, ent and diagnosis of lyme i can not remember. I asked her she was treated twice, so it did come back on her after awhile after treatment.

I hope u can afford the test. i will never take another lyme test, I think they are ludicrous. Your mean ol doc is just doin what he is told to do from the ins. co's so he can bring home groceries, buy a couple houses send the kids to college. I serously think its the ins cos dr's risk their license,

u do know i am full of ____? it's just mi theory at the moment LOL i am crazy but i'f bein normal is some of these drs. I'll take crazy.

Roses,
I don't know if this is what you are talking about or not.

I get these white or off-white looking things sticking out of my glands on the sides of my throat (my tonsils) from time to time and what I get are called 'tonsil stones'. Whatever you do - do not squeeze one of these things -should you find one & get it out - once they are out, as the smell will knock you for a loop!!! smhair They really stink!!

Here's a link to follow should anyone want any more information on tonsil stones:

Wow! This post seems to be missing something, but I sure don't know what!!! My apologies if my suspicions are correct!!
