I wanted to share some information that I assume not all have seen, as there is just soooo very much to sift through when one suspects tick-borne illnesses as the cause for their misery. This is very informative!
findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0ISW/is_285/ai_n19170382/?tag=rbxcra.2.a.44
P.S. - in order to get to more than the first page, page selection is available at the
top
of the page. There are also plenty of other articles that you may find to be interesting & helpful listed here as well!!!
I hope this helps a bit!!!

I break up my post because my eyes have been effected by TBI's as well, which makes long paragraphs very hard to read.

I read this traveler....it is quite a long read and a lot to sift through, I thought, to get to the useful information, but thank you.

Hi Chicksinger,
You are so right about
all of that sifting!!!
Here is what I believe pretty much in a nut shell about
the need to detox:

**In truth, a severe Herxheimer reaction is a sign of poor elimination pathway drainage, poor organ support, and poor treatment by your doctor. The bodies of most chronic Lyme sufferers are toxic dumps to start with, therefore, if a doctor does not get the pathways of elimination
open and working, the body grows even more toxic as the bacteria begin to die and their toxins dump. Many doctors think good treatment is indicated by the fact that you feel like crap, i.e., worse than usual, which they feel confirms that they have selected an effective antibiotic. Most of my chronically ill patients cannot afford to feel worse just from the treatment. The person with Lyme disease has already suffered enough; they don't need to go through a "herx" just to prove they have Lyme disease.**
I do hope that this info helps!!!

I've read this in the past and found it very helpful and true. When I started with first LLMD, he gave me strong dosage and I thought I was going to die. He never mentioned detoxing and said I told you would feel a lot worse before you got better. That was unacceptable. My current LLMD taught me all about
detoxing as well as numerous supplements to support immune systems, etc. I think herxing is an indication that the antibiotics are working so to some extent helpful psychologically; however, you must be able to think positive and function to get past the treatment to get to the point of feeling better which is why detoxing and rest are so IMPORTANT to healing. Just my two cents. LOL.

This makes sense- the herx is caused by the die off of Lyme toxins. So, if we get rid of them efficiently, we are less likely to herx.
My LLMD started me on Hepato cleanse because of and increase in brain swelling. I found the detox section on this site very helpful. I just have so much to get rid of, since I've had it for so many years.

The other thing to remember is that some people can't use the detox baths daily or even ever other day - detoxing too fast & hard can have it's own side effects like migraines.
Those people (like me
) have to build up slowly to doing much detoxing -but don't give up!!! Your efforts will pay off!
