My sister the other day had to pull a deer tick off my 3 year old nephews ear. He was with my dad in the yard were there are alot of deer and my dad found one on his pants and told my sister to check over him, and she missed the one in the ear. She called the dr and they told her to keep an eye on his ear for a rash, ring or swollen, and to also watch for flu symptons or if he complains of aches and also to look for bruising.

I wanted to cry .... I do not want my preciouse nephew to have this horrible disease.

My family knows how seriouse Lyme disease is now that i have had it for 3 years. My older sister lives out of state and her dr told her that there is a apademic of ticks in her area. A friend at work told me she saw a program on tv about lyme and that it was a apademic and I said I know and it has taken this long for paople to realize it but now the drs and pharmicudicle (spelled wrong) needs to...

Thanks for listening Jennifer

HI Jennie,
Maybe you and your sister should do some reading on Dr. Jones' site. He is a LLMD specializing with children. He suggest that parent not take the wait and see approach & I feel the same.
Here is a link to his site:
www.drjoneskids.com/

On the right you will see a list of topics. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click on "Treat the bite". Then read some more on his site, it has a lot of good info!

I break up my post because my eyes have been effected by TBI's as well, which makes long paragraphs very hard to read.

Thank you both for your info. My sisters husband had called his parents who have both had Lyme and told them to take him to there dr which happens to be mine to. I told my sister to take him so he can go on meds but instead she calls my nephews MD ugggg. I will mention to her again to go to my dr. I hate when you tell someone one thing and they dont do it. Me and her inlaws told her to bring him in ASAP....

Its been since last friday and I am not sure how long the tick was on his ear, since he was with my farther most of the day. My sister said it was easy to pull off and wasnt completly latched on.

Thank you, again jenn

Praying that your Sister will understand the seriousness of these infections and get her son in to see a qualified doctor soon!
