I found the rash two weeks and a day ago...I finished the doxycycline yesterday morning. I've just returned from my second physician appointment and getting blood-work. I did all but get on my hands and knees to beg for more doxy and my doc declined; stating that the doxy had such bad side-effects he won't go past two weeks, but ordered blood work today anyway. He claims that the infection rarely survives the two week protocol. I am unsure of what the bloodwork may show, but I suspect there's a strong possibility it will be inconclusive and I will be left high and dry, while I should really be chasing this thing for all its worth.

I'm a newbie here and not sure if I have an email feature for private replies or if its acceptable to just offer names into the public forum...but I want to make sure I'm getting the right treatment and the more I learn the more I think I'm in trouble sticking with my family doctor at this point. Any names or suggestions? I've read the "new to Lyme" thread. For now, I am just going to soak myself in colloidal silver and follow a daily detoxification regimen.

Many thanks in advance, for any names and suggestions you may have to offer. ~Bob

Hi Sukothai! Welcome to the forum.

And where exactly does your doctor get the proof that the bacteria are dead after two weeks. Jeez, the gall!

If you want to receive e-mails, go to your profile and elect to show your e-mail address. You could sign up for one of those free e-mail accounts so that you don't show your "real" e-mail to the world, if that would make you more comfortable.

No doubt one of our members in Delaware or the tri-state area will come up with some doctor suggestions for you.

In the meantime, here are some contacts:

For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, please email our long time member, Dan's Mother at:
phassan@optonline.net
If you'd like more doctor suggestions, you can email stephanie at: stephanie@turnthecorner.org You can also go to: www.turnthecorner.org/bod.htm if you want to learn a little bit more about Lyme Disease.

You can also go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link: www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=277&Itemid=74

You will want to find an ILADS(International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is a great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.

Good luck!

Hi - I just joined healingwell tonite - You are in a very critical time period now, of being able to knock out a beginning infection with 6-8 weeks of antibiotics, but you need to get to a Lyme-literate doc immediately, with your timing here. People do take doxycycline for several weeks, far longer than the two weeks your doctor is talking about.

Hello to achievinggrace - thx for your work here in helping people with Lyme disease etc!
