What are all of your thoughts on drinking water-apple cider vinegar-honey concoctions to alkalize, stop palpitations, kill bacteria, etc? I've read many sites that say ACV is excellent for lyme (though it may cause worse herxing), and still others that say vinegar is a Lyme no-no.

Have any of you tried ACV on any regular basis? What have your experiences been?

Thanks!

I had thought of it but didn't want to add another concoction to the mix. I use lemon water to alkalize and seems to do the trick. Let us know if you decide and if it works. We love to hear results.

If you do it you need to use raw honey and raw apple cider vinegar to get the effect. The processing of these things kills off the enzymes you're trying to get by using them. Health food stores will carry both of them raw. The most common brand of raw apple cider vinegar is Braggs.

That said, I wouldn't recommend this mixture to any of my nutritional clients who might be battling candida as this will help it flourish and prosper even more in your body due to the sugars from the honey. You can alkalize easily by using the lemon water springsjean recommends. Remember that acidic foods cause the body to balance by becoming more alkaline.

Of course, if you eat a lot of green leafy vegetables, apples and citrus fruits and avoid processed sugars and processed foods in general, you won't have to worry about the balance in your body. Fed properly the body does a great job of balancing itself.

walkingafineline- I only use braggs. I use their soy sauce too. And I usually buy raw honey. These days I've been enjoying agave nectar- any idea if this is good/bad for balancing the body? Besides honey and agave nectar, I don't use any other sweeteners as I get horrible flare ups from them (headaches, worsening of neck and back tension, joint aches, etc.... no fun!). I also stay off gluten besides the occasional dinner out where I allow myself to indulge in some good italian bread!

I've been drinking a cup of water with ACV for the past week after reading that this can help palpitations. Over the last several months I began having problems with nearly constant palpitations and was looking for a natural remedy. So far it seems to be helping, though it's hard to say since I know hormones are also a factor as to when things are "really really bad" vs. "just bad". So I'm going to keep with it for a few more weeks and see how things go!

I've read that ACV can kill bacteria. Wonder if this has any affect at all on Lyme critters...

No idea if it's pure fructose or not (might be!), all I know is that the only ingredient is organic agave nectar. I also know I don't react to it nearly as poorly as I do to sugar or even honey. I also react horribly to stevia (even raw leaves picked straight off a plant!), so I stay off that too...

Watched some of your video- I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs. By no means obese...lol... so I'm not that worried about my carb intake, especially considering I'm 95% gluten free and agave nectar and occasionally honey are my only sweeteners (no sugar or artificial sweeteners for me...). My only significant carbs come from rice and potatoes. But perhaps I'll give your manuka honey a try! :)

Hello Njlymie - I don't know if you are still on the forum - but if you are would you mind emailing me back? I was wondering what you did for panic attacks in the middle of the night - the kind that's in your body - not your head (this is what I'm experiencing). I've learned a lot form your posts :) thanks for sharing what you've learned. Are you lyme free yet? I hope so.

I use apple cider vinegar (braggs) and peroxide to clean all of my raw veggies and fruit. I eat mostly organic and still clean with these. I keep a spray bottle of each on my counter. All raw fruits and veggies are sprayed with each and then rinsed with filtered water. I think it does a good job of removing the not good stuff before eating.

Woodland, I used CoQ10 when I was experiencing heart palpitations for about a week or so. They stopped the day after I started using it.
