I did have some rib pain in the beginning of my lyme saga, though it was the right side. The liver is on the right side - though I'd think an x-ray would show any involvement there.

Have the ER doctors given you any information as to how to proceed from here?

Hi Bars,
Knowing where you are and who you would be dealing with, it's very likely they wouldn't have even looked at the liver to see if that could be an issue, and they surely didn't tell you what you should be doing next, did they? Are you sure that you don't have pneumonia? Have you ever had bronchitis or pneumonia before so that you know what it 'feels' like?

If you are sure that's it's not bronchitis or pneumonia, then it's possible it's your liver, as Borderlyme has said. I like using this interactive thingy on this site to help me determine what might be hurting inside of me:
www.healthline.com/human-body-maps/small-intestine#4/1

I know that I can get pain and pressure in my liver when it's struggling. Asa matter of fact, I'm in the middle of a liver cleanse that my doc has me doing because I've been feeling that pressure and it's just 'that' time of the year.

Do you have any doc that you can trust? If so, I would suggest that you make an appt to at least have some blood work done to check your liver.

I get rib pain all the time on the right side. Much of the time, it's just good old inflammation. Have you tried inflammation remedies like Turmeric, green stuff, etc?

I also have liver/gallbladder problems, and it can be tricky distinguishing the two. However, a lot of the inflammation stuff also helps with liver/gallbladder.

Got told last night I test positive for mycoplasma, so it's possible I get walking pneumonia without knowing it.... So, it wouldn't hurt to check that out as well...

Hi,, yeah they did blood work said liver and gallbladder was fine. Ribs still hurt after taking zpack of abx.. for pneumonia.. hell I dont know.. guess I should have followed up with doctor on monday as I went to ER .. which doctor's office had told me they could not do xray.. but they certainly could have set up appointment at hospital to get xray so I did not have to wait 6 hours in ER..

Just so disgusted with my doctor right now.. I have appointment in columbia wednesday.. doctor I see in mountain home is being an ass about all that too.. was suppose to send me a release form. But they have not.. so will have to let office in columbia deal with the folks in Mountain home the day i get there.. office gal in columbia said she would be able to get the info not to worry.

So sick of all this mess. Plus having my son here roofing my house and painting last two weeks,, is getting me down. have worked till I am ready to drop.. plus keeping him and his girl feed,, etc,

Just to much going on at one time! Pray that it stops raining and the roof gets done before Wednesday.. I will just finish the trim paint myself later. or something.. god.

I have had this for a long time.

It's very exhausting having Lyme but you just have to keep going.

My daughter had pain in her right rib. It stopped after I started the Lyme protocol + Houttounia
I associate rib pain with Bartonella more than Lyme. Son also had rib pain and he tested positive for barto which gave him far more problems than Lyme did
Me: At 99.9% symptom free--no abx for the past 5 years for Lyme and Bartonella;
Son: Bull's eye rash and Bartonella Igenex+
Both Daughters have symptoms of Lyme and/or Bartonella
Love God, trust Him, and He will heal you. He is the best doctor.

My rib pain - is not liver related - I had an mri of my liver...nothing worth mentioning on it.

But, the rib pain can be from bartonella...mine is much better after several months of treating...it is pretty much gone...except for the odd day here and there. I haven't targeted bart with antibiotics yet...but have used the Buhner herbs for a couple of months.
Symptoms started Sept, 2013 (maybe sooner?)
Buhner's protocol May 15/14 to July24/14
Igenex positive July 3, 2014; Doxy: July 4-Aug.24/14
Zithro July26-Aug.24/14
Amox 1000mg x3 + Probencid started Aug. 29/14; added biaxin 500X2 Sept. 26/14
Disc. amox and added Ceftin Nov. 20th. End of Jan/15 pulsing Tindamax ; disc biaxin
Buhners bart herbs started Dec/14

Could this be a severe case of costochondritis?

I was having rib pain on both sides and it felt like I was bruised.
I could not get in to see my LLMD so I went to my PCP. He said it was costochondritis and gave me a rx for meloxicam, an anti-inflammatory and that has helped alot. I have lyme and babesia so who knows which would cause the rib pain.

I have bilateral costochondritis from Bartonella. Babesia can also impact your ribs and chest wall. It can be downright painful. I'm looking forward to it getting better!
