im trying to clean up my diet and go back to low carb, which i used for the last 15 years to keep my weight under control...
every time i get a couple days in my headache (which is constant daily all the time) goes thru the roof. ive made it 6 days but i cant take the pain if i dont know its ever gonna let up.
is it herxing? will it stop? when?
im treating aggressively lyme and babesia and im bart herxing right now but i want to try again soon...
2 years ago before i knew i had lyme i could get to day 10 and then id start vomiting all the time, but i thought maybe it was all the imitrex i lived on for the migraine. now im not sure...
anyone have experience with this?

Oh Natalie!! I'm so so very sorry!!

Are you sure it's the lack of carbs that you are responding to? I'm not really questioning what you are saying, just trying to help figure this out. Could it be anything else?

Are you 'replacing' what you used to eat for carbs with something that maybe your body is reacting to? Are you using 'gluten free' products that you could be reacting to?

Bart is often known for some wicked headaches and you said that you are herxing from Bart, could this be what's really going on?

At any rate, maybe you could just move very slowly to a lower carb lifestyle or even wait until the Bart has come under better control, and then maybe the headaches won't come on a strong? I'm on a low carb lifestyle as well, so I understand what you are trying to do.
Lyme herbs used: "Chronic Tonic" from www.mistymeadows.org/wendydocs/Lyme Disease.pdf for 9 months

Bart herb - only Houttuynia for 6 months

Im going to try again soon after this dang herx is over. That would be so great if it didnt happen again... but it seems like every time i get into it I get sick.
I bet its herxing and herxing candida too, but you can only tolerate so much head pain...
I really should plan a lowering of carbs rather than my 'All or nothing!" approach...
i just cant quite take things gradually, maybe the sugar addiction just messes with my head but I cant stay in control if i eat some carbs, i can only seem to stay straight when i go full on low carb...

Some people suffer from porphyria thst becomes a big problem when their immune system is under attack.. They need some low level carbs.

You can take enzymes to help clear the waste products of candida or other die off too, such as candex

I've got Lyme and Bart. I had bad headaches when I first started herxing, however, the only headaches I get these days are from either dehydration/detox issues or from candida. My candida use to be so severe it was worse than any of my Lyme/bart symptoms and can be difficult to separate from regular symptoms.

To ensure its not your candida acting up, take massive amounts of probiotics, specifically Saccharomyces Boulardii which is the single best method I've found to control it. Make sure you are on a strict anti candida diet with no sugars. Kefir helps too. If you are not a little better after 1-5 days of solid probiotics, then it probably isnt candida.

Natalie, I'm sorry you're going through the struggles. My daughter has daily headaches tool. We went to someone's house to try her GB4000 frequency machine and my daughter tried the settings for lymph drainage and headaches. Typically after a lot of time traveling will leave her with a bad headache the day after, but this time she wasn't worse and her headache wasn't too bad and it stayed like that for about 5 days I believe. We need to try it again and see if it does the same thing and if it does, then we'll do more of it at the healing center until I can decide which machine to get.

I hope you can move ahead in your battle and see some positive changes along the way.

vcast, thanks for that probiotic info. I'll look into that for my daughter.

Buying kefir grains and making your own would be the cheapest, as the 'grains' last for a very long time so that you can make many batches of kefir!
