Hi gang,

I've been absent for a while. Feeling a bit more fatigue these days.

Question for you all though.... I started coffee enemas 2x/week a couple months ago and I think they've been helping. This week, I decided to step it up a bit and did one coffee enema per day (Monday through Saturday). By Wednesday, I noticed that I felt kind of itchy on my scalp and forehead. So, I took a couple Benadryl and the itch went away after a couple hours. This also happened Thursday, Friday, and again today.... except that today, my forehead and scalp are noticeably more blotchy and I do have a couple of subtle red hives on the outside corner of my left eye. Just took a couple Benadryl again.

I've read a lot about how coffee enemas are supposed to "relieve" a herx reaction. But, I'm wondering, since they ring out one's liver and gall bladder, is it possible that a coffee enema can actually contribute to a herx reaction?????

This itching makes me wonder if the CE's aren't stirring up more toxins than my body is currently capable of getting rid of. Would a warm water enema do anything to clean out my GI tract and relieve the itchy skin?????

I think I may go back to 2x/week coffee enemas for a while.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

How long are you holding the enema for? What kind of coffee are you using? Are you using 3 tablespoons coffee and 4 cups distilled water?

Are you taking any other herbs or anything else new that could be causing the hives?

One tablespoon of organic coffee per four cups of water, holding for 15 minutes. And nothing as far as the meds or sup's have changed.

I think I'm going to try a warm water "pre-wash" and "post-wash" around the actual coffee enema tonight. My guess is that I'm just wringing out so many toxins that some may be getting reabsorbed after the CE. Maybe the pre/post-wash will help with that.

On the up side, my face acne and blackheads have nearly disappeared! :)

Well, it seems as though the "pre-wash" enema prior to the CE worked. Finished the CE about 30 minutes ago and no itchy scalp or small hives so far. I'm thinking the CE was stirring up additional toxins that were being reabsorbed, rather than released, and the only option my body had to get rid of them was through my skin.
