Hi Everyone!

A study was just published that showed NAC(N-Acetyl-Cysteine) was helpful in lessening the damage done by antibiotics in lyme patients.

It lessened the Oxidative stress that occurs from either antibiotics or from some natural herbs.

I felt this was important because oxidative stress is believed to be part of  the herx response that occurs when antibiotics are destroying the lyme bacteria.

I also want to note,  that I personally take NAC and I feels it helps with my energy level. I ran out of it once and could really tell that I felt worse. My doctor recommended 600mg. twice a day.

Oh, also when I started Artemisia  my doctor said you need to careful and take  some supplements to help this oxidative stress. He suggested Zyflamend .

Hope this helps! Have a good day!

From what I've read NAC is supposed to be good for mycoplasma infections as well - I tried taking it but started having some difficulty breathing and stopped, thinking that might've caused it. Anyone else have side effects with NAC?

NAC really helps me. I have myco and lyme. I had to work up with nac from 500 mg to where I am now. I got the famous NAC flu as it opened up my detox

Pathogenkiller, this is interesting that you said NAC flu...I have been taking it for about a week now and wondering now if this is causing my crashing fatigue and heart sx's to come out. I did also restart GSE 2 days ago too.

How long did this flu episode last for you?

It probably took 10-14 days for me to work up to my optimal dose and end the fluish symptoms.

I can't take it. My side effect is extreme anxiety and restlessness.

I have been taking NAC for a few years now. I have no problems with it.

I also don't think I tolerate NAC well. Causes a lot of nausea for me. The same when liposomal glutathione. Seems like a good idea in theory, but doesn't work out for me.
