Just watched a podcast Dr. H did last week. In it he mentions that he hired a new PA and hopes to start seeing new patients again by the end of the year. He also said that the PA he hired used to actually be Dr. Oz's PA.

I love this man. His dedication to making as many people better as possible is very humbling. Not just through his practice, but through education, his books, and meeting with politicians. He's a rock star.

Still listening to the podcast. He just said that he is personally going to Washington, DC and giving a copy of his new book to every member of congress. He's also sending one to every state governor. Apparently he did the same thing with his first book.

My hero too. My LLMD has a picture on his Facebook page of himself with Dr. H. I was so star-struck when I saw it. Apparently my doc goes to a lot of the conferences where Dr. H teaches and has met him several times. So jealous. I should ask if he can kidnap him next time and bring him down here LOL.

Dr. J in DC is in the same class at Dr. H and he is seeing patients. These two have a funny relationship they poke at each other on who took who's ideas on innovation around their therapies.

Oh, I agree that doctor J is awesome too. But what I admire about Dr. H so much is that he is dedicated to educating doctors, patients, and legislators. He knows he can't see everyone himself, so he shares his knowledge with and trains as many people as possible to create other options.

When I called about a month ago, his office said there was still a waiting list of around 600 people. She said to call back in July to August to see if any openings.

I was going to give him a call, too. I thought it was the one in Hyde Park. Guess I will wait to call back in July, too, goshawk. Are you near him?

Why don't people just go see Dr. J in DC he's not much farther away. Well you don't see him most times but he does review and sign off on all treatment protocols. Is it the star struck thingy at play?

I listened to it too and found it awesome that he gave out his books. His mentioning of making no money writing them and such.

Buhner put out a podcast about 2 days ago also. Way about to listen to it now.

Before I was diagnosed, i saw Dr. H. on t.v. - he was on the Katie Couric show and a few others...so that was my introduction to him.

But, few years later...watching Under Our Skin - that's when I first heard about Dr. J.

Hi all,
I just want to say that I think both Dr. J and Dr.H are top of the line doctors for Lyme. I also believe there are most likely many other excellent llmd's out there that people have had good experiences with.I just dont know who they are.

I currently have an llmd in New York that I travel about 2 1/2 hrs to once a month. He is very experienced, was a past president of ilads, however I have stated before he does not do herbals/supplements or discuss detox much. He wasn't my first choice but back in September 2016 I was desperate for help after being hospitalized and thought I would die.

I didn't even know Dr. J existed then. I tried to get appointment with Dr. H , I was unable to, so I went with Dr.C. I am grateful to Dr. C because he clinically diagnosed me and started ABX right away and he is a nice person.

After 7 months of conservative treatment from him and having to self treat with Buhner herbals I am 90 % better. But the 10 % of symptoms I still have scare the heck out of me and I want them gone. I have asked Dr C several times about being on more than one abx but he sticks to same treatment plan which is malarone and azithromicin since Jan 18th. Before that is was doxy only for 4 months. So I have been considering changing llmd's.

I called about a month ago to Dr H and he was still not taking patients( he is also only a few hrs away from me).

I also called Dr.J and was able to make an appt. however since I have to take time off work to go to DC(its 8 hrs away) I made appt for late summer.

So I have nothing against Dr. J over Dr. H except he is closer than the other. I just want to get all the way better.

Every day I am grateful I made it this far. But as we all know in a split second those unsure and desperate feelings of "Am I ever going to be back to normal again" creep back into my thoughts.

Thanks for listening and I wish everyone here the joy of recovery someday and I hope it comes soon.
Take care, Jo

Jo/Goshawk,

I would go recommend Dr. R. in Manhattan. You can get his number by contacting Lyme Research Center 566 Seventh Avenue, NY, NY.

Approx. 4-6 month waiting list but they do have cancellations.

I really like him. He has integrity and deep kindness. He has been fighting this fight for a long time.

You also see him, not someone newly trained.

Thank you Huddie, hope you and your son feel better soon. Thinking of you and your family as you face this disease every day.
Take care, Sincerely, Jo
