I think all of these things are the same, but I'm not sure. I noticed a coating on my tongue about 2 weeks ago, the same week I was hit with a flu/cold which was possibly walking pneumonia. It hurt in my throat when I tried to breathe deeply.

LLMD had me stop antibiotics (still using herbal meds and supps) and I started a candida cleanse (2 capsules a day - not sure what is in it) and the coating has retreated to the back of my tongue. I'm still feeling some discomfort in my throat.

How long does it take candida to go away? I know oil of oregano is one possibility to treat it but I'm a little nervous about that one given what I've read. What else has been used successfully?
Symptoms started early 2016 - possibly earlier?
pos for MTHTR single mutation
Positive Igenix IgG Jan 2017
LLMD first visit March 2017 - symptoms for borrelia, bart, babs?
March/Apr '17: doxy, Tinizadole. 5/1 samento and exchange mino for doxy. 5/28- switch mino back to doxy, added activated charcoal.

It will vary depending on the degree of infection.

Pirouette has an excellent post on yeast in the New to Lyme thread.

You may need an Rx antifingal such as nystatin or duflican.

Have you read P's thread on yeast?
Have you looked into pure nystatin powder as an option?

I still have yeast, but I don't appear to have much for symptoms of it though presently. Honestly, it took me many months of knocking mine down, but I had a chronic systemic yeast infection with an atypical strain though.

PS I also have oil of oregano, and I, too, am apprehensive in taking it! : |
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but much better lately!
Kid#2: Very sick now despite being treated for years, very bad year
Kid#3: Doing great, minor relapse, but great again (ironically had least and shortest treatment)!
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids) - not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue, kidney, heart, and yeast issues

I'll have to look again for Pirouette's info. I've heard of diflucan, but really trying to avoid any rx right now. I have Rawls book and need to check what he has to say - I've been short on time lately.

1000Daisies - I'm glad I'm not the only one that's nervous!

1000Daisies I did read through that post. My tongue is ever so slowly clearing, but I think I'm going to add in oil of oregano. I ordered it - now I just have to get over the nervousness and try it! I decided to go with drops instead of capsules so I can start very slowly.

Do remember that oil of oregano, while good for yeast/fungal issues, will also possibly work on the infections you have as it's a really good broad spectrum antibiotic/antiviral/antifungal. Be sure that you are detoxing well and that you go slowly like you said.

Good to know Traveler. I've been achy the last couple of days, but that happened on antibiox too so I'd like to try and clear the candida and up the herbals. From what I've read, it sounds like only 3-5 drops of ooo are needed, at least for candida, so I thought I'd start with one and then add a drop every few days.

The achiness could be a herx from the houttiya since that's a new one that was added. So hard to know! I wonder what the airport folks will think when I bring all these little bottles in my luggage.

Day 2 of one drop of ooo and WOW is that stuff strong! I mix it with water and my other herbals, and today I added a smidge of pure cranberry juice and still felt the burn. I hope it's helping. I was realy achy last night and this morning but better now. Candida continues to slowly retreat.
