My functional doctor had me taking Chlorella Clean capsules which contain chlorella cracked cell wall powder 250 mg and spirulina powder 250 mg 4 caps daily. After awhile I dropped down to 2 caps due to diarrhea problems. Anyway, my llmd does not want me taking it right now stating he doesn't want to move any metals right now. I didn't find taking it to be too much of a problem.

Does this binder also bind toxins? If you do take it how much do you take daily? Any problems with loose stools as I am thinking the spirulina could be the culprit? What brand do you take? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what Dr. Rawls said in his latest seminar:

They are some of my favorite herbs. I’m a doctor turned herbalist, and I love the herbs. Chlorella is one of my favorite herbs for doing detoxification. I take chlorella everyday. Chlorella is a freshwater algae, I like it better than spirulina. Spirulina does have some toxins in it. Chlorella is very clean, it also has a growth factor in it, that it stimulates stem cells and other good things in the body. But chlorella is a great source of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll of course can help carry what the plant uses to carry oxygen, but it also is a really good binder to pick up organic toxins. Doesn’t do quite as well with heavy metals, but it does help pick that up.

I love his talks. /tinyurl.com/y7rg42at

If I'm herxing hard I bump up to 12-15 tablets several times thru the day.

I don't have problems with loose stools on this but def see the green going thru, fun rolleyes

PeteZa - I edited your post only to change the lengthy URL to a tiny one.

It was making the wonky long posts the way it was.

I took chlorella in GREAT doses during lyme, and I still do now but in lower doses.

spirulina is very different.

chlorella usually makes my bowel movements go perfect.

It was the most useful herb I took for lyme (I mean, for lyme herxes).
If I measure the amount of chlorella I took, it over shadows all other herbs, as I was taking that stuff 6 times a day, sometimes!

It greatly helps the stools, in my experience. But if you take a bit, it will stir toxins and you feel worse. Some people have intolerance, and can get D and even vomit. Some have extreme D! so take care.

If you're such a type, it may be very hard or impossible to take chlorella. Pity, because I am like dr. Rawls: I love chlorella. I think it helped me immensely to get out of lyme.

activated charcoal is much better imho.

i take chlorella daily but in the past when i was herxing bad, charcoal will stop that in its tracks. it is simply amazing. has to be taken 3h away of any food or medication, and with lots of water.

another very powerful metal binder is ALA, but careful with that, it is a real binder (unlike chlorella which has limited binding capacity) and may make u sicker on short term of u really have a metal problem.

I was going to start a thread about chlorella and cilantro...but this one will do...lol

I want to start taking chlorella and cilantro.

I am having an amalgam removed on Thursday...not biological dentist either...and I'm wanting to use cilantro and chlorella. I don't have time to order online...so need to buy what's at my local health food store. So, can't be choosey about the brand.

What should I be looking for - capsules? powder? And is it just called chlorella?

And...what about Cilantro..is it a good idea to use it too?

Can I also use Activated charcoal too? or just chlorella.

Should I start tomorrow even a day before the procedure...detoxing with the chlorella?

ugh..getting stressed about it.

Activated charcoal is good, but you can't use it for long, because it binds many good minerals too.

It's not for long term treatment, only very short term, in dr. K's opinion.

I take it too, and I do agree it's good, but we mostly lack good minerals, so I would be extra careful to consume it for long.

Clay is much better in that sense, but it binds less in my feeling. Clay is rich in minerals.

DE is good too, for some people is very good (I find it's mild for me, nothing compared to chlorella).

Chlorella does not bind good minerals, and there are HUNDREDS of papers on what chlorella does. Besides it has all aminoacids that we need.

ALA is strong, and can push metals to the brain, also according to dr. K. It cannot be used as a binder only, it seems (Dr. K's opinion).

chlorella only works in my case if I take a lot of it. Only bits, it does little. A lot, it is a miracle (for me).

Girlie, I would start with chlorella vulgaris, in small amounts. It is easier to digest (than pyrenoidosa).

Get clean versions, as chlorella pulls toxins from the water.

The problem with chlorella is that some people cannot tolerate it.

I took the broken wall version too (but I don't remember if I found that better or not). It took me at least 4 months to get used to chlorella (I felt bad at start).

Never ever take cilantro in the beginning (specially with amalgams). ONly as food, not in tincture and stay away from essential oils (only breathing it may cause very big harm even to healthy people).

I would try binders such as chlorella or cholestiramine, or anything you find efficient for you, first, and then only when you are SURE you can take these binders, go for one drop of cilantro in warm water before bed.

Then increase slowly.

Dr. K said something like take chlorella only for the first 4 months or so, before you venture on one drop of cilantro.

Reason: chlorella will first clean the extracellular space and the matrix. Cilantro will then pull intracellularly, when the extra cellular space is already cleaner.

I don't know if you did chelation in the past, but for me, it's one of the most dangerous fields to venture.

It can knock my liver, my kidneys, reactivate several infections, knock me out literally, with severe headaches, liver and stomach pains, diarrhea, plus infections.

so I would start with trying vulgaris in small amounts (expect a reaction already). The most dangerous reaction with chlorella is severe vomiting and diarrhea, I think. And allergy, of course.

but if your body tolerate it (even if you feel weird at first), that is good sign, in my feeling.

if you feel like throwing up, and notice loose stools, stop it immediately. This is what I would do, at least...

.

Ive been using activated charcoal as a detox for a few years now.

I believe it pulls things from the digestive tract only...and that's why we space it a few hours away from everything else - food, supplements, antibiotics...etc.

Thanks for the info - I will look for the chlorella vulgaris. I don't know how many options I have at our local health food store though.

just heading out in a bit.
