I understand it is different for everyone. But just wanted to get everyone's take on this.

After you started treatment, how long until you started seeing improvement? Did certain symptoms get worse?

I just finished month 2 of treatment. I feel good except I still get numbing in left arm and left side of face. My walking seems to be getting worse as well.

After a few months I saw some improvement, but just be aware that sometimes once Lyme is knocked back other infections some times show up with symptoms and you may find it is your dominate infection.

New symptoms can show up with herxing and or with a new addition or change in medication/treatments.

It can take time to get well for some of us.

I didn't start seeing improvement until about 6 months in and even then, it was very small. I'm still having a lot of trouble and symptoms a year into treatment. You can't go by what other people experience - time wise. I've heard of people getting better in months. Not me sad Hang in there.

agree with gosh, if progress is slow maybe a co-infection is preventing improvement.

7 months in for me. I was feeling really good at about 6-8 weeks. I've only been able to tolerate about 6 weeks of antibiox (pulsing). Did herbals in addition. Taking a break now from a second round of antibiox which was to treat bart.

It really is different for everyone. I've also discovered I seem to be impacted by my cycles, the weather, the moon.

Kat1000- did you test positive for Bart? Or was it clinical diagnosis?

Ashley - it was clinical. The soles of my feet are very sore especially in am, I have twitches, pulses, mottled skin, and muscle aches. The twitiches and pulses did get better with initial treatment for lyme. He had me on rifampin recently, and I'm taking a break because my stomach started hurting after 6 weeks taking it 2x a day 3 days a week.

Thanks Kat- I haven't had any of those symptoms (minus the muscle ache) I got bit end of May. Symptoms started end of June. DX July 7. 21 days of doxy. Felt 100% for 4 weeks then relapsed. I was in doxy for 1 week then stopped per my pcp. Found a LLND who restarted doxy and pulsing tin. (It's only been a week) I'm adding in tin tomorrow.

I just give a 2 months (max 3) for a type of treatment, combo of herbs, or frequencies to work.
If nothing happens, I change everything (or almost), sometimes radically.

Either I go through diet change, or change a device I use (or settings), or change the homeopathic school, or add Chinese or Cowden herbs, or go nosodes, or treat my teeth / mouth...

when I knew nothing about lyme, I had to wait to see a practitioner, so that they gave me my treatment.
But even with what they suggested me, I never stayed put, and kept adding and subtracting things.

when I started Buhner, I saw changes. Quite some changes.
When I added Cowden, I also saw changes.
chinese herbs, again.

When I added loads of binders, in rotation, in cocktails, I also saw immediate changes.
Same as with microfrequency treatment, then tapping, acupressure, homeopathics, bee products, teeth treatments, heavy metal detox...

As I was ultra sensitive to herbs, supplements, I had to find alternatives, anyway, and as was practically totally bed or sofa bound, I had to keep trying in order to be able to stand up a few hours a day.

At a certain point, I had to jungle with 60 substances a day (remedies, frequencies, tapping, special food, probiotics, homeopathics, whatever that made some effect).

But I would NOT have done that, if I felt no difference.
I had a 1 year old child to look after (no family around), so I needed to be a bit functional.

I guess, people in better health conditions tend to wait more for treatments to help them (?)

I could see if I was getting better just by the number of minutes I could keep standing, then walking, then able to see the sunlight again, when I re-started being able to take a shower on my own again, stuff like that.

When you are already not that bad, I guess you can afford to wait and see.
It's also harder to check if you are improving, when you are not that bad as some of us...

i could see clear improvements in a matter of days after starting a treatment, herbal combination, whatever I introduced. Sometimes in less than a day.

In fact, I think I never waited even a month to feel better.
I had a long way to go, and in the end, true, it was harder to see improvements as it was hard to track milder symptoms.

But I created one rule of thumb: if my symptoms do not bulge, there's something missing, wrong.

Symptoms can change (that can be a good sign, in my experience), they can worsen (which can mean good too), but the WORST, is when they do not bulge but keep there for long.

Long means, 1 month, maybe 2? (I'm not patient...)
Then it's time for a change, in my opinion.

change does not mean necessarily change the drugs, herbs, supplements completely...

It can be simply: change your diet drastically. Or moderately.
Or look into your mouth and treat it.

Have you treated scars? That could be a point blocking the symptoms to change.
Or psychological aspects of disease?
Or added acupressure or acupuncture? (so that treatment will reach those blocked points?)
Or colon cleanse?
Ionic foot baths?

You can add cannabis, or bee products, for example.
This is just how I treated myself, not a standard way most people do...

After I started the full Buhner protocol in July, in 8 weeks I was feeling about 95% or better. This is after almost a year of Bartonella symptoms of various degrees from moderate to stronger.
