Hi everyone.

Has anyone been to this clinic in Germany for hyperthermia? I am likely going to be going for 2-3 weeks treatment end of November/early December. Please let me know if you have heard of anyone who has had success here. I am not responding to antibiotics and I refuse to spend another year sick. So I am desperate to try something else that can help. Thanks for any info you have!

Evanston - are you asking about members going?

There was that post about a girl who went to Europe for Hyperthermia - I don't recall if it was St. George clinic - I think in 2016 - can't remember the details...she is better now.

That's exciting to hear that she is better! I'm 99.99% going unless I have some sudden and miraculous response to the meds I'm taking. I'm not too confident that will happen so I've already started the process of securing a spot at the clinic for early december. I'm excited and hopeful!! But also terrified! I am SUCH a scaredy cat and I don't like being poked and prodded. But I will surrender it all during my time there as a solid attempt to get better and be back to the person I once was.

Evanston,
Here is a link to all the threads that have discussed the clinic. I used the sites search function.

Evanston1,
So looking forward to hearing how it goes for you. I have been seriously considering going there myself if I can raise the funds. Way out of my budget but I don't want to spend years going to different Dr's and money and not getting very far. Lets us all know how it goes for you and keep us posted on your response to their treatments. I may not get to go ( if I do at all) until next summer. Maybe that wishful thinking. Bets of luck to you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you have great success.

Have you been getting guidance from a non profit group Lyme and Cancer services. If not they can help tell you what to do to prepare ahead of time and all sorts of other things. I have just started talking with them.

Mojkce- thanks for the good wishes. Yes, I have been getting guidance from them. They have been extremely helpful in putting the pieces together. I still have a while to wait until I can get there (about two months) so you will for sure see me on the boards from time to time until I go. I'm terrified and excited. And it will feel sssoooo good to be there with others who know exactly what I'm going through. Sometimes this all feels so lonely.

I wasn't able to fix it, jrpsf. I had to delete it...sorry. What I usually do is create a tiny url out of the long link...but this one wasn't allowing me to.

Yes Evanston! I get the lonely part. That is the part that sometime sucks the most. The symptoms and stuff would be somewhat easier to deal with when there is a good support system. This can really be isolating. I have noticed it really weeds out who truly loves and cares about us. I get it that it is too much for some to handle or hear about but still we need the support. Two months will fly by before you know it. I will say that in my past experience visiting Germany many years ago that the people I met there were awsome and very kind. Just know though that at the clinic they may not do a lot of hand holding so to speak. They are used to treating people and they know what they are doing but are so used to people like us American asking so many questions about what they are doing and why. At least that's what I heard. But I am ok with that. I would still ask questions any way! Keep us posted!! Best wishes...

I will definitely keep everyone posted. I'm starting to do major detox and some things to get my body ready so I can get the most out of the treatment. And I have also heard that they are not the best at hand holding in Germany. I'm nervous about that because admittedly, I am not the easiest patient. I get very anxious. I have some serious blood clotting disorders and I am high risk for clotting. Getting a PICC line and all the IVs makes be so scared as I have three little kids and need to survive this ordeal. I'm seeing my hematologist Monday and we will come up with a plan to keep me alive during all this.

I'm so glad you'll keep us informed about your progress. I really need to know for sure that the treatment works before I can decide to spend so much money. If it works, it will be a drop in the bucket compared to how much money I've spent and will continue to spend on treatments.

I'm with you about being a scaredy cat, so if we're willing to go this far, we must be pretty desperate! smilewinkgrin I never used to be afraid of needles until I got this stupid disease and needed constant blood tests.

Like you, I'm just really nervous about the safety of this treatment. We need to be here for our kids! I wish you the very best of luck!

No need to apologize...it just might be better with your own thread.
