Has anyone had their CD4 count tested? Just curious if this gets lowered with Lyme.

This is the first time I've heard about CD4 cells, but apparently these are cells that get impacted with people who have HIV/AIDs. They're directly connected to the immune system response, and apparently they get pretty wiped out if you have HIV, so it's an indicator to tell if you have HIV. I wonder if our CD4 cells also get wiped out. I don't believe I've ever had these checked.

I was reading about AIDs, and they say that toxoplasmosis can be something that activates when you have an impaired immune system. This was a good video for my feeble brain to understand this:

I wonder if toxoplasmosis gets activated in Lyme folks, and hence the neurological symptoms.

G- Ever get the cd-57 test?

If I remember correctly, cd4 is part of the cd-57 test. The test report has lots of numbers, not just total CD-57.

We have tested for CD57, c4a, and previously c3a in the past. I'd have to look at the labs to see if CD4 is listed.
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Very sick now despite being treated for years, still very bad
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

No I don't believe I've had CD-57 tested. Maybe I should get that tested.

I just check my last cd57 record and cd4 is not part of it.

cd4/cd8 ratio is brought up in chronic fatigue/ ME illness.

These are all different T cells. There are more. the cd57 is natural killer cells, similar to T cells or maybe one type of them , i dont know.

And there are just plain T cell blood tests to from regular labs like Quest - I posted asking about this with zero replies.

One lyme test I'm familiar with has T cell levels as part of the lyme test, but I'm not paying $400 again.

C4a and C3A are not related to the above at all. Those are "complimentary" inflammation tests common in lyme and mold, fungal, yeast, other stuff too...

I went to an infectious disease doctor and asked specifically to test my immune function. Maybe the test is done there, but I don't have the results yet. Maybe in about a week

Yes, please let us know. An ID Dr looked at me like I was nuts when asked for that. Like he was cluless or felt I was telling him what to do LOL.
